Inflate to that number before towing. Should you inflate to that number when the weather is hot? Just curious how you adjust as the air temp increases.Coleman 15K HP2 ReplacementI am replacing my current AC which has stopped working. The model is a Coleman 15k HP2 and for the ease of replacement I am planning to put the same model back in. My unit is ducted but the odd thing that I have noticed is that there is no interior ceiling assembly. There are separate returns on the ceiling a few feet from the installation. I think typically a unit goes through the ceiling and is tightened down from inside the RV to compress the seal. Does anyone have any experience with an installation like mine where the unit does NOT come through the ceiling? Is the removal of the old unit and installation of the new pretty straightforward?Re: Need Help With My 5th Wheel/TruckSounds like a dangerous situation. I can't imagine the front wheels come off the ground of a truck that has a fifth wheel attached; seeing that the fifth wheel is connected over the rear axle of the truck rather than the bumper. What is the weight of the fifth wheel and what is the GVWR of the truck? These two numbers should tell the story as to whether or not you should be using this truck to pull the fiver. Lastly, you would not be the first person to be sold a unit that their vehicle couldn't handle. Many RV salesmen really don't care so long as you can pull it off their lot. I am sorry if that was the case in this situation.Re: Converter had a shower... how do I test it? attuco wrote: Remove lead from battery. Try a 12 volt light to see if the converter is working. So if I remove the output to the battery and test a 12v light inside, that will tell me if the converter is working?Re: Converter had a shower... how do I test it? Jim-Linda wrote: If it was flooded, first, I would remove converter and dry all water, check all fuses or breakers on the converter itself. If ok, I would disconnect the output and apply power to converter. If still ok, turn breaker off, connect multi meter to output and check reading. If no reading, converter is defective. Thanks, Jim-Linda It was necessarily flooded because the top of the converter is not open. It's a Progressive Dynamics unit and the only openings are on the ends. I did not unplug the unit but I did dry up around it and put a hair dryer on medium heat on it for about 15 minutes. I'll take the next steps you mentioned, but I don't have a multi meter with me.Converter had a shower... how do I test it?The converter in our fifth wheel just happens to be placed directly under our toilet in the basement, which also happens to have an open air register (no ducting) directly next to the toilet. So when our toilet valve stuck open today, filling and overflowing the black tank, the water came out of the toilet, into the vent and directly on top of our converter. Odds are this converter is shot but I'd like to know for sure before buying a $200 replacement. Without having a electric meter, is there another way to test the converter? We are hooked up to shore power now but what symptoms should I be looking for that would indicate the converter is shot?Re: AC is icing up but not cooling dougrainer wrote: 1. Year and MODEL of the RVP HP 2. Do you get ANY air volume inside? 3. Was the Compressor running before you changed the Capacitors? 4. Is this a ducted unit? 5. Icing----Lines or the Evaporator? Doug @dougrainer Yes, we do get air volume inside but it's not cooled. Yes, the compressor was running before changing the capacitors but it wasn't running very strong. Yes, this is a ducted unit. The lines are icing (not the evaporator). Thanks!AC is icing up but not coolingHello, We have a 15k BTU Colman AC with a heat pump in our Open Range fifth wheel. The unit wasn't cooling so I replaced the capacitors, but to no avail. The compressor is running and the lines ice up but it is not blowing cold or even cool air. I've had a mobile Rv tech look at it and he says the unit needs replaced. I thought I'd run it by this group to see if there's anything more I can try before dropping a grand on it. Thanks in advance!Re: What do you do for an office w/o a bunkhouse?I had the same problem but I actually HAD a bunkhouse RV. However, my bunkhouse is full of kids :) I work a 9-5 job online from the road and I had been working on my lap for 1.5 years. It was terrible and I finally got around to doing something about it a few weeks ago. What I did was moved our washing machine into the closet and renovated the space for the washer/dryer into a desk. I'll be posting about it in detail on my site in the very near future. St Louis to the Kansas line is only about 250 miles. Really shouldn't take you 9 hours Good luck with your problem. Thanks for the response. I didn't suggest that I stopped at the Kansas state line. It's a big state.
