Finding hidden historic places are our favorites. Our geocaching profile makes it easy to see where we have been. Many finds in the Gold country, Big Bear Lake, Anza Borrego desert, Valley of Fire, even Yosemite (where there are quite a few "virtual" caches"). We use a Garmin Oregon that can hike, be mounted on our bikes, or even on our dual sport motorcycle. Not many interesting near home in Los Angeles, but fun none the less. Oh, and we have hidden one cache near home on a quiet maintenance road near Marina Del Rey wet lands.Re: Electric powered trailer mover/dolly.Hey Bob, We have a PowerCaster AC2. We have a skinny driveway and the trailer needs to make a 45 degree turn rt, then 45 left to park. Impossible moves with tow vehicle. Bought the tongue attachment and it is very easy to maneuver. Sometimes we even need the mover to get the trailer into the driveway from the street if cars are parked on both sides. We even had to cut off 4' of the garage and angle off the corner to make it even possible. Envious of those on RV.Net with acres not feet of property!:) We live in L.A. so we picked up unit to save shipping. Re: What are you towing with your F150?'04 bought new. Now has 53k miles. I want new but can't justify. Need a major breakdown. ;) We have 10 yr. old tune in it, AirLifts, Rancho 9000s, and factory tow. Here's what we tow... it's a baby compared to most rigs on RV.net! Re: Bedslide Anyone? We got our Bedslide when we purchased our '04 F150. We use it for our carpentry business inside our cab high shell. No more crawling around to get to forward equipment. When we camp we still use it to access firewood, generator, bike (mounted to quick release mounts we screw to bedslide), etc. It's a huge back saver for removing stuff.Re: New truck technology!guidry, That would be cool! "hey Siri, what the weather look like?" "hey Siri, open the geocaching app" "hey Siri, show the traffic map" :)New truck technology!Dreaming of a new truck with all the tech goodies. As a non techie....who recently got a smart phone... Why can't the trucks use the info from a smart phone on nav display? Why would we have to subscribe to a second data plan to see info such as weather, gas stations, points of interest. It's all on the phone. Shouldn't we be able to blue tooth the phone screen to the nav screen?Apparently we can stream music from phone, why not everything. Or is it simply a matter of more companies wanting a $. Oh yeah, I AM too cheap for duplicate info plans.:)Trip report...Big Bear, CaSpent a great week at Serrano campground. Did a lot of dual sport riding and some geocaching. Great weather. Great site. Very pleased with the campground, well maintained, friendly staff. Snowberry hookup loop View out the rear "bedroom" Geocaching rest stop. Our 21 yr old daughters Yamaha XT225 and the wife and I ride the Suzuki DrZ400 (2 up). Beautiful scenery on our rides Went through an area that had burned We ended up on a forest road rougher than we expected...they all look good on the map!! Discussing turning around or continuing...both options were bladder busters! Dip cone reward ...and a break to get some feeling back into my behind! We'll definitely go back next year...my butt should have recovered by then :)Re: Tow Vehicle ImprovementsHi Indy317, We have a 2004 5.4l 3.73 4x4. We have towed 4500lbs. up to 10000ft. in Yosemite. Added a tuner and catback. Tuner "sharpened" the way the engine runs, like throttle response and shifting, but doesn't really add noticeable power using an 87 octane tune. Tried the 91 octane tune and still didn't make enough difference to warrant the cost of premium fuel. The catback was added for some sound. No noticeable difference in power. Changes were well worth it to me, but not cost effective for power. Probably wouldn't get a tuner for our next truck, but will want a cat back again for the sound. Just my opinion. Enjoy your trip...Re: Fresh Water Tank won't empty via pumpHere's how we did it.... We dry camp 95% of the time and need all the water we can get.... Moved the pump intake from where the white pvc plug is, to the bottom drain location. Re: Low priced leds, fast shippingThanks to JiminDenver, We used your link and purchased 10-48led panels. We are very satisfied. The color seems a bit yellowish to us but we are completely happy. Can't go too wrong for $1.79 each shipped! We did leave one 921 bulb in our two bulb bathroom fixture along with one new led panel, to help with the yellowish light color....kinda makes us look sickly when looking in the med cabinet mirror. I aint very good looking to begin with! Thanks for sharing your results.
