I’m annoyed with the Cdn government instituting this requirement—crossing the border into the US I just showed my triple vaccination card. I think we will just bite the bullet and pay at a clinic in Northern California that guarantees results quickly.Molecular test for Canadians going homeWe’re in California now, about to head home to BC. ArriveCAN tells us we need a molecular COVID test within 72 hours before crossing the border. Have any of our fellow Canadians gone through this process and how did you time it when driving home?Toilet troublesToday I dropped the lid of a bottle of CampChem into the toilet. Will it just wash out through the drain hole or is it too big?Re: Any nice new 5th wheels that have cloth furnitureWhen we ordered our Jayco 5th wheel, we had a choice of a leather substitute or cloth. I ordered the cloth furniture. I also don't like the stickiness of "leather" or the cold touch.Re: Rodent???Tvov—I found the product locally and will set it out tomorrow. Thanks for the advice.Re: Rodent???"Avoid putting the bait in the camper - it will draw the rodents into the camper to get the bait. Use the outdoor bait containers (designed to prevent other animals from eating the bait). I put those next to the jack and wheels, where rodents can crawl up into the camper." Tvov--what outdoor bait containers would you recommend? We are in Canada, so our products may be different but I'm sure I can find comparable items. Good advice about not putting the bait in the trailer, and about the consequences of poisoned mice and their predators. I'm also amazed that the mouse had the energy to stash all that food in two different places. Will also look up peppermint oil. Thanks, everyone.Rodent???We recently put our 5th wheel in storage on a farm field in southern British Columbia. The owner warned us that mice were a problem, so we set out four trays of blue poison mouse pellets. A week later, we returned to find two of the trays completely empty, and a stash of the pellets in a corner of a pantry basket, and a dozen pellets in the underbelly underneath the upstairs bedroom. We inspected the trailer thoroughly, found a dozen mouse turds, and a small hole on the kitchen slide which we plugged with steel wool. We're now living in the trailer, and haven't found any dead rodents, so I assume it (they) escaped through the slide hole before we plugged. Would this have been a mouse? A rat? Do mice transport food to a hiding spot?Re: Thinking of buying a 2019 Jayco Eagle HT 28.5RSTSWe bought a new 2017 Jayco Eagle HT 28.5 RSTS a couple of years ago, and for the most part, we are satisfied with it. We really like the layout and tow ability (Ford 250). Also, the two year warranty is good. That said, we have had some minor issues with it--leaking kitchen tap, some loose screws which my husband tightened, a wonky bedroom slide, etc. Our dealer is excellent and took care of all the problems. Our last Jayco was a 2008 Superlite, which we also liked. Jayco was sold to Thor, I believe, and the quality control is not as good, but I think most rv's are similar.Re: Hot water problemSorry for the delay. We were on the road. The water heater is an Atwood GC6AA -10E, 6 gallons.Re: Hot water problemSome answers to your questions. The water heating system worked fine for 1 1/2 years—enough for two showers. When the problem started, the dealer replaced the thermostat. It worked well for three days; today there was enough hot water for a short shower only. Husband checked the outside shower, which is turned off. We have been using electric.
