If it was mint maybe the price could be pushed up a little, but 16K seems high.Re: 1992 Chevy C3500 Duallyhttp://batonrouge.craigslist.org/cto/4007945662.htmlRe: 1992 Chevy C3500 DuallyHoping to get right under 18,000 for mine. New tires less than 1,000 miles ago. 42,000 miles on the truck. All service done. Gear oil changed out every 10K. Oil changes every 3K. Transmission service/filter/spark plugs at 30K. Coolant/Brake Fluid/Power Steering Fluid (Dodge ATF) done at 40K. Will see if I get any bites. The 1992 is listed for 3900 which seems appropriate.Re: 1992 Chevy C3500 DuallyThanks for all the replies. Sounds promising. Just hoping to sell my truck before this one goes away since it looks to be in really nice shape.Re: 1992 Chevy C3500 Duallythanks for the thoughts. Anyone towed with one of that vintage recently that can provide some feedback?1992 Chevy C3500 DuallyI currently have a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Mega Cab HEMI that I added 4.56s. It tows extremely well with my travel trailer. However, for the past two years I have only put about 1,000 miles per year on it since it is now a dedicated tow vehicle. I have been thinking about how it is depreciating sitting on the side of my house and I could surely use the money that it is worth for other things. I have noticed a 1992 Chevy C3500 Dually with 127,000 miles on it. It has the 4 speed automatic with 4.10s and the 454. The truck looks to be in very good shape, but have not saw it in person yet. Asking under $4,000 for it. What are your thoughts? How will this compare to my current setup? Horsepower on the C3500 is much less than the HEMI but the torque is about the same on both. My travel trailer is about 8500-9000 lbs. I would most probably keep the C3500 for the next 5-7 years and will put on it about 1,000 or so miles per year.Re: KBB.com vs NADA.comOne other thing I forgot to mention .... When listing on craigslist be sure to post the 4 or so pictures they let you, but also list more pictures and provide a link to another site (one of the free photo hosting sites). Also provide as many details about the vehicle, heck provide a listing of oil changes, etc. Many people list on craigslist and don't even provide a picture. The more you provide will show them that you are legit and will definitely help you out. I have sold a few cars, a truck, and a camper through craigslist and each time I listed as much info that I had along with providing many pictures through an external link (photobucket).Re: KBB.com vs NADA.comI think you are priced right. To estimate value you can use the ones you have listed: NADA and KBB. Also use edmunds and blackbook (you can access blackbook via http://www.cudlautosmart.com/Research/TradeInValues.aspx?articleId=7&WT.svl=VehicleBuyingGuide I would take the wholesale/trade value average of NADA, KBB, Edmunds, and Blackbook and that should get you into a wholesale value. I would then add a certain margin to it for a private sale. The problem is all of the pricing guides above are just estimates and I doubt a heck of these have went through auction recently. Usually with vehicles 10+ years old it really comes down to condition, service history, and you having what they want. I think listing it on craigslist like you did is a great start. I would also do like I recommended above and list it on ebay classifieds. You could also go to a few small private used car lots that have older vehicles and ask what they would give you for it which will give you a good idea. You could pay to list it on autotrader or cars.com but then you are putting out more money. Good luck. I am sure someone will come along looking for exactly what you have, just have to wait for that right person.Re: KBB.com vs NADA.comIs this a Base, LS, or LT? Is it 4WD? If 4WD I think you are priced definitely right; maybe a little low. If 2WD I think you are priced possibly about a grand high. Curious about trim: Base, LS, or LT. Also consider posting on Ebay classifieds (this is a free service).Re: KBB.com vs NADA.comYou might also want to check out ebay. There are 3 1999 2500s listed right now. You can also search the completed listings also if you have an ebay account. Another place would be to post the info of your suburban on the Edmunds real world trade values forum. The members on that site can pull auction values, although this one might be a tough one. Curious how many miles you have on it and what you have it listed for?
