Met a friend from Colorado in Glamis and spent the week riding the dunes on our RZR's. Was a bit windy there the last day but overall had a great time. Got back to Quartzite today and got settled in for a month or so here at Holiday Palms in Quartzite. glad to be in one spot for awhile and really nice to be hooked up again and close to all the modern conveniences for awhile. Now we'll spend Christmas in Arizona for the first time. really Nice park here. Time is flying by been 3 months already and having a great time.Re: Hit the road today!Made it back to Houston after a few week stay in Missouri and was quickly reminded why we left here in the first place. Stopped in Livingston at Escapeees and spent the night. Picked up our mail, renewed our licenses at the Polk Co drivers license DPS office . Been visiting with family and taking care of a few things. Hitting the road again in the AM and heading out west . Glamis sand dunes will be the next stop by thursday or so.Re: Should I add auto level?I'll never have another without it.Re: Hit the road today!Been 2 months since we hit the road and been having a great time. We stayed at C9 in Missouri for 10 days then headed to West Virginia to the Hatfield McCoy trails for a couple weeks. We had a lot of fun and met a lot of super nice people. We decided to venture a little further north to the Gettysburg battleground and spent a couple days there and stayed in a state park nearby . Toured the battleground and drove around the local area through the orchards and such. Stopped off on the way in W KY to visit with daughter and grandkids for a few days and boon docked at Turkey Bay right on the lake. So then it was back to Cloud 9 ranch for the last month to rest up and visit with friends. We're having a group camp Thanksgiving dinner and then guess we'll be working our way back toward Houston to take care of a couple loose ends, dr appointments, renew drivers licenses etc. probably make a trip by the storage unit and drop off a few things we don't need and pick up a few things we wish we would have brought with us. After that it will be time to start making our way our west. Looks like we are heading to Quartzite for a bit .Re: Hit the road today! Our last business was a Document Shredding Company. Actually thought it would take awhile to sell but happened to mention that I was going to sell it to a friend and a few weeks later he bought it. Got what we wanted for it . Didn't make a big profit on it . I sold a oilfield service company several years ago and came out very well on it. I've started and sold several businesses over the years and have never used a broker. The oilfield company was the largest and most complicated to sell and took several months to complete. The buyer of that company was a large international company that sought us out. I will eventually settle back into another house / area and start another business but plan to see a lot of the country before we do settle again. Maybe a year or so who knows .Re: Hit the road today!Really enjoying this got nothing I have to do stuff but I get on top of the TH and installed a mazair vent cover this morning.Re: Hit the road today! We arrived at our first destination last night ,Cloud 9 Ranch in Caulfield Mo. We have been here a few times before and enjoyed it so we decided to join and stay awhile and relax for awhile. Spent our first full day just straightening out the TH and visiting with old friends we hadn't seen in awhile. Went to town and stocked up on food and picked up a few things we managed to forget before we left. we spent so much time getting the house ready for closing we forgot a few things. The weather here is fantastic. Cool temps and Low humidity. I sat on the ground and didn't get bit by a single fire ant lol. grilled out and just kicked back and had a great day.Re: Hit the road today!Thank You !Hit the road today! So about 3 years ago my wife and i were camping in Colorado at Taylor park at the annual RZR rally and started talking about how great it would be to just travel around in our TH and ride all the great different areas of the country and see all the sites. This discussion carried on for over a year and as the frequency and length of our trips occurred the more serious we became about actually just doing it. We finally made the decision to sell the business and the house and go full time at least for an extended time. Business sold last year and we closed on the Home/property today and hit the road. So today is day 1 for us. We left Houston at 5:33PM after living there for 30+ years. Getting everything done was a huge challenge but we managed to get everything done in time and with the exception of a 5 hr delay in closing everything went smooth thanks to a fantastic agent. So we'll arrive at our first destination in a day or so at Cloud 9 ATV ranch in Caufield Mo. to meet up with with friends to ride the RZR for awhile and just relax and recover from the moving and repairing and cleaning . Clearing out a 3500 SF house and 5000 SF shop after 16 years was a monumental chore to say the least. We've been reading and getting ready for nearly 2 years waiting for the day we would take the big leap. So 7 hrs ago we began the big adventure. 3500 SF to 300 lol. Love it!Re: A few questionsThanks Jim
