Fixed the problem now no more worries. Tires on the other hand get a the guage before I leave and an eyeball during the trip. Common sense goes a long ways to saving time for other stuff like poking the campfire.Re: Tips for maintaining a third vechile as a tow onlyanother issue is this junk they call gasoline these days. The ethanol does not "sit" well. You may need to keep an additive in it to keep it from separating and collecting water. Research how the government mandated fuels are costing us money. Here in NC/SC we can still find 100% gasoline and its only @25 cpg more and it increases your mileage and better for your engine.Re: To lube or not to lube the hitch ballSave your money on hitch ball covers... after you finish that bottle of water after setting up, cut the top off and slip it on. The one I have even snaps into place, I think its a nestle bottle, but cant remember, been three years ago now.Re: Rear Living TT & Sleeping 6Our kids were 14 & 16 when we bought ours. We opted for the RLS instead of bunks because we knew it wouldnt be long before they quit going with us. Jayco dont make our floorplan any longer, but we love it. It isnt that difficult to fold out the couch and lay down the dinette, but I didnt have to do it, they did if they wanted a bed to sleep on instead of the floor or ground.Re: Those dreaded black streaks ?I use gutter extensions and crank the front of the tt high so the water runs off the rear instead of the sides when raining.Re: Help with truck capabilitiesWhen I see a wrecked rv on the highway, almost all of them have been half tons with a lot of trailer. Bigger trucks have heavier chasis, stronger suspension, bigger engines, bigger brakes. Even my 32RLS looks big behind my Crew Cab Dually. As a trucker, I recomend to much truck.Re: Classic/Vintage Tow VehiclesWell... It is 24 years old....when I realized that I realized I wasnt 16 anymore. LOL. I always thought classics were 20yrs old...could be wrong though.Classic/Vintage Tow VehiclesLets see your classic or vintage tow vehicle. Mine is a 89 R 3500. Purchased this truck for lower insurance, inspections, and taxes. Plus its a cool restore project. The bottom half from one of the larger windows would cover the smaller ones. I then took down the valances with the day shades attached and put in wooden dowel rods between the valance and day shade. I just used drywall screws in each end and they dont show up due to the dark brown color to our decor. While at it I replace all the 1/2" screws that hold valance on (you know the ones always falling out) with brown switch cover screws with lock washers and nuts. You can barely notice the screw heads even knowing they are there. So I now have a choice between totally dark, some light, and plain glass. About $125 total invested.
