It has an internal bypass valve that is adjustable in addition to the pressure switch adjustment. This pump is a lot quieter than the Flojet Triplex 3526.144A and plus no cycling. That thing sounds like a jack hammer compared to the Shurflo.Re: Outside Kitchen Sink Drain Swamp Man wrote: One thing to consider is that a lot of private RV parks no longer allow dumping of gray water on the ground. Some state parks are getting that way also. You could get one of those tote tanks for gray and black water and use a hose to drain into it... What do tenters do in the State parks ? How do they wash they're cooking utensils? Do they bring them all to the washroom and do it there? I guess washing your hands and letting the water land on the ground is a big no no as well? Do they now have to bring their own portable "grey tank" and dump it with all the RV's at the dump station. What about brushing your teeth and spitting it out on the ground , is that a no no too? Not sure how a bit of grey water falling on the ground is going to hurt anything as long as it is nothing toxic or stinky. I'd be more offended with dogs urinating all over the campsite than I would a little grey water falling onto the ground. Just my 2 centsRe: Outside Kitchen Sink DrainWe have this same model as the OP. At first I was surprised to find the same thing with the outdoor sink, however now I'm kind of glad that it doesn't drain into the grey tank. My grey tanks take longer to fill as the kids can use a lot of water to wash as they pay no regard to filling up the tanks ;). We limit the outdoor kitchen sink use to washing hands and light rinsing off of things as not to cause odors. To me this is no different then what tenters do. They don't have grey tanks to drain their washing water and they wash ALL their dirty dishes and hands and whatever else, letting it fall to the ground.Re: Check the numbers for me on towing...Your truck is fine for those weights. Hook it up and enjoy.Re: Water pump is slow to shut offIt doesn't have an accumulator tank, but I may install one and see if it helps. I haven't checked the strainer since this trailer is brand new and this was the first time using the pump. I've also heard good things about the Shurflo 4048 and that it is very quiet. I 'm going to call Grand Design and see what they can do for me.Water pump is slow to shut offWe've started to use our water pump for the first time at a Provincial park for the Labour Day weekend and the pump seems to take a long time to shut off, or doesn't shut off at all.. This happens more often if you just open a faucet briefly enough to start the pump and then shut it off. It's like there is air in the lines after a quick run. If I run the water again for about 5-10 seconds, it will start to speed up and get louder and then finally shut off. It's a flojet pump and there is no adjustments on it. I suspect that the diaphragm is leaking. Anyone else have/had the same issue? Also the pump and plumbing are very very loud in this coach. Much much louder than my last TT. It seems no attention was placed in dampening the vibrations of this pump throughout the coach.Re: Opinion on weights for TV/5th wheel combo JIMNLIN wrote: op says+ wrote: Funny thing, I was just doing some research and realized the same that the axles are practically the same. The one difference I did notice is the number of splines in the diff. The 6200# has 35 and the 7000# has 37 spline. How mush of a concern is this for the weight rating? This gets talked about all the time when the the Ford 3/4 vs one ton SRW issue is brought up. According to Ford truck folks the 37 spline axle should be under the F350 DRW/F450 Dana 80 axle heading on page #71 in Fords spec website . The F250 and F350 SRW uses the Visteon 35 spline axle. Actually the number of spline/axles diameter has more to do with twist GCWR/tow ratings) than carrying a load (GAWR) on a full floating axle. The axle on a full floater doesn't carry the load. Awesome, thanks for the clarification. So by the looks of it, if I add the overloads and the 4" spring block, I should be OK with the weights. Thaks for everyone's input.Re: Opinion on weights for TV/5th wheel combo JIMNLIN wrote: op says wrote: I know that the RAWR is the weakest link in this set up. An F250 has a Visteon rear axle MAX rated at 6200# and the F350 has a Visteon axle MAX rated at 7280#. So realistically no amount of suspension mods are going to actually increase the amount of payload this truck can carry due to the lower rated axle on the F250. Ford fleet service specs shows its the exact same Visteon rear axle/brakes on the F250 and F350 SRW trucks. The F350 SRW has a higher rated rear spring pack that gives it a higher rating. GM and Dodge/Ram use the same AAM 11.5" rear axle but give it a 6200/7000/7050/9850 RAWR with different spring packs/higher rated wheels and tires. Visteon says the axle has a 9xxx lb rating . Ford as GM and Ram simply uses different rated rear spring packs/higher rated wheels and tires to get the rating they want. This is how owners safely increase payload ability. I see the V10 has up to 26000 GVWR in motor homes and tow rating up to 18000 lbs in the F450/550 trucks. Your V10 won't have any issue towing a 13k-14k trailer. I will say going up hills it needs to scream to get into the power band.Good luck with your decision. Why would you not tow over 10k with the V10? Aside from the crappy fuel mileage, it's an incredibly strong powertrain. I actually like the sound of my V10 at 3000rpm. The truck sounds like it's starting to actually wake up at 2500 rpm and gets to business at about 3200.Re: Opinion on weights for TV/5th wheel comboThanks, I'm not going test the limits of the truck with my family in it. Plus I like to relax once I head out on our camping trip, not worry about being overloaded. I get enough stress at work.. LOL!
