My heart is truly broken but I know for all 3 of them they had a great life here with us whether it was 6 months or 19 years. The 3 of them were loved and cared for and safe and will always be in our hearts. We still have 10 left and hope they also live healthy and long lives with us.Re: Totally heartbrokenThank you everyone. It truly has been a brutal 6 months for sure. I miss my babies and wish they didn't have to leave but their lives with us were without abuse or unkindness. We rescued them all and loved them all until it was time to let them go. Each one is special for sure and will always have a special place in our hearts.Totally heartbrokenLast Thurs my 19 yr old tortie had to go to the vet as she was a bit dehydrated. She came home Friday night in good shape, eating, drinking etc. sat night she didn't seem like she was comfortable and by sun morning she could not lift her head up. I took her to emergency where they said her potassium level dropped and she was to stay. Monday her fluid and potassium levels were back up but my vet who is so awesome felt it was time for her to go as her body was tired and her kidneys were failing. I knew she was right so I went right over and held my baby and helped her cross the bridge. She looked so good, she never looked old but I could tell she wasn't comfortable and she let me put a towel over her which she only let me do when she was sick last year. It broke my heart in a million pieces to let her go but I promised her 18 yrs ago she would never suffer again. I kept that promise. Marble was an amazing cat with a personality like no other. I will love her and keep her in my heart forever. She has been cremated just like my other kitties and will be home next week. Losing 3 cats in 6 months is draining but I am so glad they were part of my life.Re: I am backBoy Cat Lady I'm with you, it just breaks my heart to see an animal hurt, hungry or abused. I couldn't put in print what I think should be done to people or inflict any of that on an animal. Yeah I cant write what I think either. All I know is that if I were judge for a day things would change.Re: I am backWe actually trapped a 4-5month old little kitty this morning. He is now safe at the SPCAI am backHi Everyone. Its been a long time since I have been on. My computer died, life changed and things happened. I meant to get back on as I learn so much about pets and camping but I didn't. So much for me to get caught up on. Since I have been on here we were up to 12 cats. The last one was a 5yr old deaf blind urine stained cat that we got. He was amazing and came a long way, even had all of the staining off of him. Unfortunately 6 months after we got him we had to euthanize him as he had a tumor in his stomach. A week before that we had to euthanize out 8 year old cat due to acute kidney failure. We still have our old cat who is now 19 and almost passed away in June but is doing well. We rescued a 4 month old kitten in November. Just got his neutered, his umbilical hernia fixed and his eye lid had surgery done on it. Now all is well!!!!Re: Police officer left K9 in hot carlast month here in nova scotia a very well known phototgrapher left his dog in the car for 3 hrs with all windows up while he went to a holistic convention. by the time people saw the dog and got him out it was too late. he was convulsing and passed. charges are pending. it was 40 C with humidity that dayI am backHi All. I have been very busy the last few months with some tragedies and life changing events and also got a new computer. Hope I haven't missed too much.
