I love my TorkLift GlowStep Revolution steps. You can actually use them almost straight up and down.Re: B&W Companion Hitch w/BedrugI initially installed mine on top of a heavy rubber bed mat. Ended up cutting a hole in it. There was just too much movement after the mat started flattening out.Re: Sub-frame for camperMy FW is 33 feet long.Re: Sub-frame for camper Eaglescout94 wrote: Is 8 inches too much clearance at the bed rails. I remember reading 8” if there will be any off road but it seems like 90% of what I’m reading says 6 I’ve got 9” of clearance and have still had the truck bed rub on the bottom of the FW on some rough roads. I say more clearance is always better.Re: Sub-frame for camper Eaglescout94 wrote: Do you happen to have any pics? I’m more than capable of doing the welding but don’t know for sure how I wanna to about designing the subframe Re: Sub-frame for camperI had a 4"subframe added to my FW by a local welding company that was recommended by the dealership we bought our Jayco from. It is basically a metal box. The axle's are still align-able. Have had it for seven years, have towed on some very rough roads and have had zero issues.Re: Lite weight 5th wheelThe Jayco HT line might be worth takin a look at. Jayco HT Fifth WheelsRe: Short Bed SilveradoI have never had an issue. One benefit of the shorter bed is that when the tailgate is down and I am hitching the trailer up there is never a concern of the tailgate making contact with the trailer. My buddy has my exact truck with a long bed and he has to stop and shut the tailgate before he completely hitches so the tailgate won't hit his trailer.Re: Advice for Towing 5th Wheel (switching from bumper pull) laknox wrote: bowler1 wrote: Hi, I am making the jump from a travel trailer to a 5th wheel and am looking for any advice or feedback you can give me on towing with a 5th wheel vs. the TT prior to my picking it up. My current trailer is 29 feet and about 7k pounds and I pulled it with a Tundra. I am getting a 41 foot 5th wheel that weighs about 13k pounds. I will be towing it with a Ram 3500 long bed diesel SRW (with a 4200 pound payload capacity). Any advice on how I should adjust my driving with the bigger trailer in making turns, backing up, etc? I am a little uneasy about the extra size and length and not sure how backing up will be compared to the bumper pull. Thanks for your help Matt Find a large parking lot, get some cones and friends, and PRACTICE! You'll want to use your mirrors a lot more, too. Lyle This is what I would recommend.Re: B&W Companion non slider in Ram short box?I have that hitch and a 6' 6" bed and have never had a problem. I can definitely hit the back window in a very tight situation but it hasn't been an issue in over 6 years of using this setup.
