It doesn't mean (and she didn't say) that Richard HAD to change everything 180 degrees. Adopting most, some, several or even a few of the suggestions could be helpful. Everyone has their own way of raising not only their kids but their furkids as well. What works for one might not for another but sharing ideas and techniques only makes us wiser and better at it. Take it for what it was; a genuinely well meant set of suggestions and techniques from someone with knowledge that wants to help. BTW, I suggest a muzzle right away.Re: You MIGHT be an RV'r if . . . Dan sent me some pictures of Anna and Beau last night and I can see that Anna is doing great. It looks as if she hasn't even missed us at all! I am glad for Anna, Dan, Lori and Beau that they have made one happy family with Anna's addition. Maybe in our travels we may be able to visit them someday........ Dixie Flyer I know sending Anna off was troubling and difficult for you Richard but it must make your chest swell with pride knowing how well she is adapting and filling her role in her new forever home. It's sometimes hard to understand His guidance but it's wonderful to see the fruits of it. :)Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}That is one beautiful pup Richard! On a side note, we just had a neighbor pass away and the DW was able to almost immediately arrange for a new home for his English Bulldog through a Bulldog rescue group in Northern Oregon. We have a friend that is going to transport him. More kidos to you and Old Fella for having put us in the right frame of mind since joining this thread.Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Ok, I'm out of Kleenex. Anyone got a spare box?! Richard, you certainly do have a way with words and Anna is (as always) one gorgeous southern belle. I see nothing but good coming from this. She really looks like she has a lot of self confidence about her which will help in the transition.Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}You know, we should all get together and buy some stock in the company that makes Kleenex. :W I spent more time with my glasses off, wiping my eyes than I did reading the posts! We all appreciate the updates Dan and Richard. Thank you very much.Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Well, I'm sure by now the hand off/paw off has been made. Hopefully when Richard gets back he'll be able to see through the tears to give us an update. I'm sure Anna behaved herself beautifully and her new family are all thrilled with her addition. It won't take Anna long to work her Southern Charm on Dan's family and "make her place" in the homestead. Best wishes for all in this as I know it is tough on Richard and Sue (and I'm sure Old Fella and Levi to some extent). I'm sure we'll soon have stories of mischief, fun and laughter coming from Ohio real soon.Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Richard, I don't know if you've checked the thread but it looks as though things have finally been worked out on Anna II's trip to WA in May; thanks to many volunteers.Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Is everyone out on a camping trip? Not much activity here. Wouldn't want Dixie to be disappointed in us now would we? :WRe: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}I'm sure that this "final" trip with Anna is met with both joy and sorrow by Richard. It must be tough for him to give up his "first love" of the pups but I know he has been propped up by Suzie and her antics. :W We wish you well Richard as it is a brave thing that you do. Yes, it is for the best as we all know but that doesn't make things easier. Take care and be blessed in your trip and let's hope Anna spreads her Southern Charm all over Ohio!
