My Reese 25k hitch, which is the one that Ford sells with the truck, only has one jaw that wraps around behind the kingpin. As well, do I really need a different break controller from the one that is built into the truck?Re: Starting and stoppingWhat is TBC?Starting and stoppingI have a 2011 Ford F450 DRW pulling my 2014 Cyclone 400 Elite Toy Hauler 5th wheel. When I am at a stop and I take off, I will hear a slight screech at the pinbox and then a tug like the kingpin slid back to catch the jaws of my Reese hitch. Then when I slow down to a stop I will hear the same screech and a thump like the kingpin slid forward with the 5th wheel hitting the front of the Reese hitch. It is like there is a little play in the hitch with the kingpin. Is this normal or something that I should be concerned about? Is this the same thing as chucking that I keep reading about? This only happens when I have to come to a stop or take off from a stop. This is not something that happens just while cruising along at any highway speed.Re: Is there a good way to transport a golf cart with a 5er?If you didn't already have a new camper, I would completely agree, a toy hauler might be the option that you would really enjoy. Saying that, my wife and I have been double towing for the past going on 7 years. As we have never had an issue double towing, I never really enjoyed to whole double towing aspect. Therefore my wife and I did purchase a toy hauler about 6 weeks ago and it is a much better option for us. Not only can we take our toys without double towing, but now when the toys are unloaded we now have a separate room with queen sized bunk beds for our 3 daughters. As far as double towing, as I have done it many many times, it was an uneasy feeling to me. But, it served its purpose and thankfully I never had an issue. If you decide to double tow, you must always make sure that before you enter a particular road, parking lot or whatever the case may be, that you have a clear direction out without being able to back up. There was one time where we were trying to find a campground that we had never been to and our GPS lead us down a dead end road. It is no fun unhitching a trailer from the camper, backing the camper out over a mile of road, unhooking it, going back to do the same thing with the trailer and then hooking it all back up. Thats an hour of my life I'll never get back. Anyway, I hope you find the best option for you.Re: Did I pay too much?OK OK OK. I got it :) LOL. Thanks to all the replies. I didn't think I had buyers remorse, but maybe I do a little for posting my question. By no means has my wife or I even concidered the thought that we need to return the rig for any reason, I was just curious on others opinions. And yes it is true, there will always be someone else out there that got a better deal I guess. I'm just not a good negotiator. Now for the real fun, using it. When we purchased it, we had the dealer deliver it to a site at the campground right next to the rig that we had. We used it for a week the day we received it. Now we have at least 4 other times that we are planning outings with it this year. We love this rig and we love the fact that we are going to make lots and lots of memories with our kids. Thanks for all the kind replies. I know I was leaving myself open for a butt whippen with my question.Did I pay too much?My wife and I just purchased a new Toy Hauler. It is a 2014 Cyclone 4000 Elite. We have been looking at Toy Haulers for about the past year and a half. Last fall we were dead set on buying a Cyclone 4100 when we were ready to purchase. But then this spring we saw the 4000 Elite and new that this camper had the layout we wanted and so we found one with all the options that we would like to have in it. Here is a list of the options: 3rd A/C Garage carpeting 5500 Onan generator Porch option 6 point leveling system The asking price was $96,000 and we ended up paying $73,000. So, my question is that I want your opinion, do you think that I paid too much? I feel that I got the camper I wanted for what I was willing to pay, but what about you? What do you think I should have been able to pay?
