I did go look at the trailer, unfortunately, found issues that caused me to drive home with an empty hitch. The photos were taken at my request, so were current...the trailer looked great, really well maintained and I loved the fit and finish in the Sunline...night and day difference between that and the quality I've seen in dozens of other mass produced campers. Problem was a soft spot in the floor, suspect area in the roof and non-functional fridge...I think the fridge was a quick fix issue...any one of the problems I probably would have dealt with, but together I figured it was more of a project than I wanted. Sure had a hard time walking away, I reeeallly like that camper, but I think I made the right call. Felt bad telling the sellers, nice older couple that apparently had no idea of the problems. She did the honest thing and updated her CL ad immediately.Re: Should I buy this Sunline today?I see the NADA low retail on this camper is $4400, average $5300. Things in my area (as in most) tend to sell significantly higher than NADA values.Re: Should I buy this Sunline today?Actually, the seller's not put me in any rush. Today is the only day I have available in the next two weeks. Also, they've agreed to $4000 which is significantly less than they're asking on CL, so I'm afraid if I wait too long someone else will offer more.Should I buy this Sunline today?I have an opportunity to buy a 2006 Sunline T-1950 today only for $4000. Seems like a very good deal to me...photos show good condition, second owner purchased through a dealer, everything works, no leaks. The catch is its nearly four hours away and has to be today. I've bought and sold several campers over the last few years, so I kind of know what to look for. I have the cash and the time today, it's the size camper I'm looking for (though a little heavier than the KZ'S and Salem Cruise Lites I've been considering). Any reason I shouldn't go look at this camper with the idea of buying today? I've always considered sunlines higher end campers, but I recall something about them being bought out in the later years and quality declined. Anyone have experience with 2006 model year Sunline TT's? Anything to add? Comparisons of 2006 Sunline to a newer 2011-2013 ultra light like a KZ sportsmen or Salem cruise lite? Thanks!2015 Ram 1500 towing?Hello all, Well, here I am again, at the end of a truck lease cycle. I've been leasing trucks every 2 or 3 years for the last 20+ years...it works for me. My current truck is a 2013 Ram 1500 Bighorn (the first generation 2013...before the 8 speed trans). Before that, I had a 2010 Toyota Tundra...LOVED the tundra, but at $100/month more than the Ram, I didn't love it that much. Before the Tundra were a couple other Ram leases (in Detroit area, they lease out really well). I feel like the Toyota towed much better than the Ram (towing a 26' TT loaded up to around 8,000 LBS). My question is about the new Ram truck...I've found a pretty good deal, but even the dealer is telling me they reduced the towing a payload a bit when they switched over to the new style and 8 speed trans in 2013. Who's towing with a late model 2013 to 2016 Ram truck? What are you towing? How do you find it compares to other trucks you've owned/used? Any other suggestions? I have a buddy who swears by his Ford eco boost V6...says it tows better than his old F150 V8...he's towing more than I am, but I don't think he's as aware of how/what he's towing. Anyone have a new model Ram and had the older model and can compare the two? I'd love to jump up to a 2500, but they don't have any lease deals on those at all so they wind up being double the lease rate!Retracting Slide in Winter WonderlandSo, I have my TT winterized, but have the slide extended and we got the great surprise of about 28" of snow in the last few days. I broomed all the snow off the top of the slideout, but there's a good layer of ice remaining on the top of the slide. I'm concerned that if I retract the slide as-is I may risk damaging my seals AND that when the ice does melt off all that water will wind up inside the TT. Any suggestions on how to proceed? I ran the heat all day yesterday hoping to melt off the ice to no avail...we're expecting another 8-10" today and there's only one day above freezing in the 10 day forecast. This is ridiculous, I know better...this early snow dump just caught me with my pants down...this AND, my tractor/snowblower is in the shop!Re: New Jayco Purchase PriceCool, thanks everyone. I did get a quote from rvdirect.com which was significantly less. I'll see what I can do to get the dealer to match. FWIW, that price is out the door with TTL but no additional equipment. I already have a factory brake controller and nice Reese WDH.New Jayco Purchase PriceJust kind of kicking around the idea of upgrading the TT. I've been looking at a couple of models of Jaycos and I'm finding a wide variation in price from dealer to dealer. Is there a rule of thumb as to what percentage of the MSRP I should expect to pay? I'm in Michigan, one of the TT's I'm looking at is a Jayco 28bhbe. The MSRP is $26,707. Dealer gave me a price of $21,000 which is a little better than 21% off the MSRP. Just wondering how that compares with other jayco sales out there.Re: 2014 or 2015 Jayco JayFlight 28BHBEHas anyone actually purchased a 28bhbe? I'm curious as to purchase price. I've spoken to a dealer who tells me $21K out the door is his rock bottom price. That's about 80% of the invoice pricing...seems like I've read on here most folks getting at least 30% off invoice. That extra 10% might just make the difference.Re: Where to put the tv?Be sure to check your viewing angle. In our last TT, we had a great spot for the TV, elevated above and behind the dinette. I bought a nice LED TV that fit the spot perfectly. Unfortunately, I didn't check the angle from which we'd be viewing before buying the TV. The LED TV looked great straight on, but when viewed from a low angle (looking up) it was almost impossible to see.
