Today I installed a new stereo for the cab. LOVE IT! AM/FM/CD, which will all hardly ever get used, but it has Bluetooth built in, so the C has hands free calling now! Also has a USB input in the front so that we can play music or audio books from our iPhones or even a thumb drive. I bought the unit from Crutchfield. Frankly, the same one sells on Amazon for a few bucks less, but you can not beat the customer service and tech support at Crutchfield. Worth every extra penny. This is the one I installed. The surprise of the day was that all of the factory speakers wired to the front stereo work and actually sound pretty darn good! I also finished scrapping the incredibly ugly shower surround mess. We bought an Extend-A-Shower and DH cut the middle piece and extended the extend-a-shower to fit. He cut a piece from the small half of a brushed nickel shower curtain rod from Lowe's - about $10 - and used that to add about 6 inches so that it fits our large corner shower. I'll install it tomorrow. Tomorrow is my last MH work day before our first big trip. Wish me luck! Still lots to do! When we sold our 15 year old pop-up last month, it was in better than new condition and was clean enough to perform surgery. For some reason, I expected that we would receive our Class C in the same condition. Was I ever wrong!!Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???In our new to us MH, the area over the cab is cabinets. We thought it would make a nice entertainment center, so today I installed the Bose speakers that will provide audio for our laptops with iTunes. We just tried it out and the sound is AMAZING!. The install also looks really good, too. Tomorrow the new LCD TV/DVD player goes in. I finished changing the last of the hardware on the cabinets - I found much better prices online than I did in our hardware store, so I ordered all of the cup pulls for the drawers and most of the cabinet door pulls. These made a big difference and went a long way towards a custom look. BUT my most favorite project so far is the new backsplash. The nasty plexiglass that was behind the stove area was so dirty - there are no polite words to accurately describe it. Like the toilet, I didn't even try to clean it - out it went. After hours of research, discussion, and debate, I finally settled on these nifty thermoplastic panels. We love the way it came out. I haven't been able to add the photo, but here's a link to it: Damon Kitchen Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???New kitchen faucet and caulking - what a difference! New under cabinet mount coffee pot - now it finally looks like it's ours. (we're coffee snobs, so a good thermal coffee pot and burr grinder is an essential). I also removed the old radio. The new one should be here on Friday. I love Crutchfield - their customer service is fantastic! I scraped and sanded the stairs to prep for painting. Removed the old toilet and mostly installed the new one - This was the last project of the day. The water connection for the old one was vertical. The new one has the water supply entering horizontally, and my current piping won't reach, so I'll need to get an elbow tomorrow. I ordered the new cabinet hardware (brushed aluminum drawer and cabinet pulls - all satin nickel). And still a whole lot of cleaning. Geez! I can't get over how grubby this RV was! On deck is installing the Maxx Aire's that arrived today, painting the steps and the carpeting them, and replacing the house water pump and adding a strainer (there was no strainer at all). And a good time was had by all :-)Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???I met my new (vintage) Class C up close and personal today! The nice guy that we are purchasing the RV from spent the afternoon showing us all the gadgets and gizmo's, what hooks up to what, etc. We pulled into an empty campsite and hooked everything up, and then unhooked and stowed everything to hit the road. We had a blast! Can't wait until we get to bring it home next week!
