Their is essentially no gap between flats on hitch and pin box now and its hard to tell when weight is off to unhitch. This makes no sense to me being I have owned a different 5th wheel in the past with no issues. It seems the pin doesn't go deep enough in the hitch.Re: King Pin fit? cummins2014 wrote: Helped a fellow rv'er in Montana last summer, could not get his hitch to latch, it came down to removing his lube plate, it was beat up a little , and holding the kingpin up just enough that it wouldn't latch. It worked fine once the plate was removed. Apparently some pretty close tolerances on those kingpins or hitches. That is exactly my situation, I had to remove the lube plat to get it to latch properly. A previous 5th wheel I owned had no issue with lube plate on it and had plenty of gap between pin box and hitch when unhooking at site. I don't see much of a gap on my current one so its hard to tell when the weight is off enough to pull the slide pin.Re: King Pin fit?I know one thing I will do is clean off all the old gunk\grease off the pin and slide bar that may help my situationRe: King Pin fit?- My king pin total length is 3" - Length to bottom of pin groove is 2 1/2" - Bottom of hitch slide bar to top face of hitch is 2 3/16" That only leaves me with a 1/16" clearance between bottom of slide bar and pin groove. I'm getting to wonder if the pin is just to short for this particular hitch.Re: King Pin fit? Cummins12V98 wrote: Are you using a slip plate? If so Hensley sells a 1/8" thick one. I had one on it made it worse so I had to take it offKing Pin fit?My king pin does not seem to sit deep enough in the hitch causing slide bar to have trouble sliding over the bottom flange of the king pin. Anyone have an issue with this, are there certain king pin/hitch combos that don't seem to work well.Re: Awning Screen Room Islandman wrote: The screen rooms are nice if you're going to be camped in the same place for a few days, say at least 4-5 days in that it gives you additional outdoor room and space. When we had our 30 ft. Class A a few years ago, we used the Patty-O-Room if we were going to be in a spot for several days; it was quite handy and gave the kids an area that they could even "camp out" and play and we even stored some of the extra stuff you tend to accumulate while owning an RV. But, it wasn't easy to put up and took two people to do it right. What brand of screen room do you have? Some are well built while others are bulky and take up lots of space in the RV when in their storage bag. It says Open Air Deluxe Screen I think by CamcoAwning Screen RoomI Have a never used screen room that came with the rv we bought that attaches to the awning. Anyone find that these are worth the trouble to install. I don't know if I like the fact that I need to install these self adhesive mounts all over the side of the camper that you can see when its not set up.Re: BBQ for RVSpin onRe: BBQ for RVI have the Weber go anywhere grill and looks like I have to replace the regulator. I have a very low flame with a new cylinder, anyone else have issues with gas grill regulators going bad? I previously had a coleman grill before and got so frustrated with bad regulators I quit using it. About ready to go back to charcoal.
