A business that sells utility trailers and some U haul places install hitches. It doesnt have to be a rv place.Re: Hauler to get my trailer from Florida to Canada?Maybe your campground has some back area that they could move the trailer to instead of paying for a serviced lot. Many campgrounds will store your camper in a storage yard for you, maybe they could do the same for you at a much reduced rate.Re: Week in Maine. Where would you go?If it wasn't for the Corona Virus, I would say New Brunswick. Since I cant say that, I guess Bar Harbour, and Acadia NP would be second.Re: slide vs no slidex2 on not having plumbing, electrical, or gas in the slide. I have had two motorhomes with the couch and dinette in the slide. Both were Hwh hydraulic powered slides. Both rvs were 2000s, and neither has had a single bit of trouble in 20 years. My previous rv was sold to a friend, so I still know whats happening with it. Resale value is better, and easier with a slide. My brother had a TT for sale a few years ago with no slide. Almost every caller asked if it had a slide. They weren't interested in one without one. Some people will say they wont buy one with one, but I think they are in the smallest minority. I prefer slides. They make the whole rv more useable and spacious.Re: Colored party globe lights for awening? ...yeah, I know Yosemite Sam1 wrote: brianosaur wrote: Yosemite Sam1 wrote: Those extra lights have been discussed here (or some other forum) as major annoyance to other campers who are running from the city due to light pollution. … when in Rome… I don't mind myself. It's just I camp on city, country and national parks/forests and mostly campers don't put out those string of lights. Maybe we'll see more of them when we go East or Midwest. I even prefer the soft glow of those kerosene lamps when outside. No one uses kerosene lamps anymore. lol They went out many moons ago.Re: Remote Fridge Cutoff SwitchIf you are driving into a gas station, the fridge is only a few feet from the door you have to exit to fuel the rv. Why not just shut it off at the fridge. I think this is being a little overthought. You could also shut off the main propane valve if you are already outside.Re: Are you a Songbird or Snowbird?People in Arizona told me they were Sandbirds. Since us snowbirds try to avoid the snow, the sand birds leave the sand. I guess you songbirds leave the songs behind. Being a musician, I always take the songs with me.Re: Full timing in CanadaPassport America has a Canadian branch. I looked it up, and it shows around 20 participating campgrounds in Southern Ontario. At only $44 for a membership, it doesn't take long to get your money back. I always buy it when I travel. If you plan on just going somewhere, then stay put for a long time, you probably wont get your value out of it.Re: Deer jumps between truck and trailerMany people think its "cute" to feed deer around their homes. Where I live in Ontario, people feed them all winter long. Many are in areas with fairly major roadways. This results in many deer being hit each year, and hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage to people's vehicles. They obviously get hit in the wild as well, but many are the result of irresponsible people, who think mother nature needs help. Sorry just my rant for the day. At least six get hit on my road every winter, causing many thousands of dollars in damage to vehicles, and possible injuries to passengers. My friend hit one right in town in front of the high school. Up the hill, one of the residents was feeding the deer of course. These people should be held responsible for the damages.Re: Rain Entering My SlideoutAs a short term approach, lean the rv slightly toward the slide. I know on older rvs that tend to have aged weather stripping, it can help. The idea is to keep the water running away from the rv if any gets on top of the slide. Sometimes driving rain can get under the topper, and if the slide is tilted slightly toward the rv, water run toward the rv, and can get under the seals. The water will usually make its way to one side of the slide, or the other, and run down the sides of the slide. The water ends up getting the floor wet. The other alternative is pull in the slide if it is a driving rain.
