All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Solaire 312tsqbkWe own a 2013 Solaire Eclipse Edition 269BHDSK trailer and love it. The interior appointments were very similar to other brands that we looked at back in 2013 like the Cougar X lite and Coachmen Freedom Express. Why we went with the Solaire was the floorplan offered and the overall build quality. The clincher was the unique look and front cap which made the trailer stand out compared to others. To this day we still get compliments on our trailer and it's unique look. We have enjoyed four great camping seasons with our Solaire and would look to buy another when we are ready to replace the one we have now. Good luck in your search. Should you need more feedback visit Forest River Forums and click on Palomino to review posts regarding the Solaire. LouRe: Electric power jack-any suggestions?Just bought an Atwood 4000 that replaced my crappy Lippert Components jack that folded during a wind storm earlier this summer. The Atwood is made in the USA versus the Chinese made Lippert. We love it. It works much faster then our old one and does not strain when lifting like the Lippert. LouRe: Owner Manual needed for 1989 Glendale Golden FalconHello; If you are still looking for a manual, you could try Ottawa Camping Centre in Ottawa , Ontario. They used to sell Glendette which was an identical unit to the Golden Falcon, just a different brand that Glendale produced. Ottawa Camping Centre sold them back in the 70's, 80's and 90's. Unfortunately Glendale RV closed during the last economic downturn back in 2010. They were very well made trailers and many are still in active service. Many of the components in your Golden Falcon will still be available from the component manufacturers. Hope this helps. I am a Glendale Enthusiast since 1977 and even had the chance to meet the original founder back in the late 80's and had a tour of their factory back in the late 70's. We had a 1978 Glendette 290 Travel Trailer. LouRe: Palomino Solaire ownersWe love ours. I would suggest that you visit Forest River Forums and click Palomino to find a lot of comments from Solaire owners. The line is pretty new and was introduced in late 12 early 2013. We'd buy another one when the time comes. LouRe: Palomino Solaire and hitchWe have a 2013 Solaire 269 BhDSK 32 foot travel trailer. We will begin our fourth season with it and love it. It has a unique look and is very aerodynamic. Easy to tow with our F150 that has 5.4 engine and all the towing options. We use the Equalizer 10,000lb. Hitch system and tows like a dream. The four point sway control on the Equalizer works well with our trucks built in sway system. We have not had an major issues with our Solaire. When we picked it up in 13' we only had minor trim issues that our dealer fixed in a timely fashion. My only disappointent was the Lippert brand electric stabilizer jacks that only lasted 2.5 seasons. They are garbage. I replaced with made in America Bal manual stabilizer jacks that are easy to use and very sturdy. I also found the Lippert jacks very slow to wind up and down so they wasted time during set up and take down. Good Luck with your switch from a fiver to a travel trailer. Happy Trails! LouRe: Palomino Solaire travel trailers? We have a 2013 Solaire and will begin our 4th season with this spring. To date no issues to speak of except small things that are common for all brands. Lippert Components that make power stabilizer Jacks was our only disappointment. But we replaced them with made in the USA "Bal" Brand stabilizer jacks. We love our Solaire and would recommend them. But as always I encourage people to carefully inspect any RV that they are considering to purchase and purchase from a dealer that will provide great service after the sale. An RV is like a house on wheels and most of us have a home inspections before purchasing. Good Luck with your search! LouRe: Heartland MallardMallard is a brand name that Heartland acquired from the now defunct Fleetwood Travel Trailer Division when they went bankrupt in March of 2009. At the time they aquired all of the brands that Fleetwood produced. They have marketed the Prowler brand since 2010 and must have just decided to now use the Mallard brand. I suspect that the Mallard line will be a step above the Prowler. The Mallard back in it's hay day made by Mallard Coach Limited was a top of the line unit before being acquired by Fleetwood back in the early 1990's. Good Luck in your search and be sure to compare the unit to the current Prowler Line-up. LouRe: Mold/dirty awningI have used Spray Nine Cleaner with great results. For tough mildew you may want to use a brush with stiffer bristles to break up the stubborn stain. The nice thing about Spray 9 is it is ready to use and can be diluted if necessary. Good luck LouRe: Best Wax for Fiberglass Trailer?Gel Gloss Spray wax works great and is extremely easy to apply and buff. Designed for Fiberglass surfaces and acrylic finishes. I just finished using for my semi annual application. I have used on two of my last trailers. The latest being a 32' unit taking about 4 hours to do. I use Gel Gloss early in season and just before the end of season before covering our trailer for winter storage. When I take my Adco cover off in the Spring our trailer still looks clean and shiny, ready for the next season of use. Available at Hardware Stores for under $ 8.00 for a spray can. Takes two cans to do our 32' trailer. LouRe: Radiance 28QBSS and Shadow Cruiser 280QBSHello; the Radiance model is a slightly higher end unit then the Shadow Cruiser model. The build of both units would be about the same. The Radiance would just have some finishing touches a little nicer then the other. Lou
