We have a small pop-up camper. Looking for suggestions as to which loop or campsite would be best for us...not too far from restrooms, some shade. Are there any sites that are close to either the beach or the bay for launching kayaks?Jetty Park, Cape CanaveralWe are heading to Jetty Park in a few weeks, and are wondering if there is anyplace close by the campground to get groceries. We don't tow a car, so would love to hear that there is a store within biking distance! Otherwise, we will stock up before we check in.Re: Texas Beach CampingWe camped last March in Port Aransas, Texas. Fun little beach town where you can rent golf carts to ride around town and on the beach. There were people camping directly on the beach, but it looked windy and too public for us. There are several campgrounds in Port Aransas that are just over a sand dune from beach, and you can take the golf cart from your campsite to the beach. That's what we did and we had a great time!Re: OH where to?We spent some time in Kentucky in September and really enjoyed Heaven Hill distillery in Bardstown. It is right at the city limits, which was good for us because we don't tow a car. We made an attempt to get to Maker's Mark, but the county roads in Kentucky are very narrow and no shoulder, so we ended up turning around rather than do the white-knuckle drive in the RV. Heaven Hill was very interesting and we loved Bardstown. Be sure to eat at Mamie's Kitchen if you are ever in the neighborhood!Re: Golf Carts in Galveston?I guess I didn't phrase my question quite right. I know how to google. I think people use this forum to hear the personal experiences of fellow campers. My question is, does anyone know of another community where campers can ride their golf carts into town, like they do in Port Aransas?Golf Carts in Galveston? Are golf carts allowed on the streets in Galveston, Texas? How about the beaches? Last year we spent a week in Port Aransas and really enjoyed driving around town and the beach in a golf cart. Would love to find another destination like that!Dale Hollow Lake State ResortCan anyone recommend a good campsite at this campground? We would want full hookup if possible, and as close to the lake as possible.Re: Duluth, mnWe LOVE Lakehead Boat Basin Marina in Park Point. It's literally just a parking lot, but you have room on your "site" for carpet and chairs and picnic table. There are nice brand new restrooms and showers. But the best part is that you are just a few blocks from Canal Park. And you can watch the ships go under the bridge and right by your campsite!Fall trip to KentuckyWe are planning a trip to Kentucky the first week in October. We want to visit the Creation Museum, the Ark Encounter, Kentucky Horse Park, Mammoth Cave and Land Between the Lakes. Would love suggestions on campgrounds and restaurants near those attractions, as well as anyplace else in Kentucky we shouldn't miss! Also, what can we expect for weather that time of year? Will it be crowded? Will we need campground reservations? We like biking and kayaking. And we don't tow a car.
