Pulling the 28ft travel trailer. when looking at the map I do not see many options. Any advise will be appreciated. Starting out from the eastern shore of Maryland.Re: traveling to MaineThanks everyone for the advise, plan on going probably the end of August ,1st of Sept. Will post how the road adventure went.traveling to MaineWife & I planning to visit Maine this summer.Looking at trip planning with the Sams Club and I see a lot of warning about bridge height & construction around NY area .A truck driver said just take RT 95 all the way up,no problem. Have a 28ft TT, so now I am conflicted on best way to go. Leaving from Maryland, would appreciate any input, especially from those who have done this route.extend or not extendWhen traveling down the road the wife see other TT,s at residence's parked with their slide" put out, she asks why we do not do the same thing. I do not know what to tell her. What are the advantages & dis advantages to extending your slide outs when TT not in use?Re: Help Stoltzfus in PA sold us a brand new leaking camper! We have bought 2 travel trailers in the last 5 yrs from stoltzfus, If you have a problem they will take care of it. We have found them very honest and trust worthy. We live about 2 hrs away from them in Chestertown Md.They have always addressed any issues satisfactory.Re: victim of dishonest SellerBuying a used TT is like buying a used boat "buyer beware".When I was looking for a boat to buy it took 5 months before I found one where the seller was not trying to hide something or was ignorant of damage after responding to some questions. Thats why when we decided to purchase a TT I told the wife after she found some for sale on Creigs list and looked at them, and I pointed out some the things to her the owner was not forthright in reveiling, she agreed to go to a reputable dealer. She is now a happy camper . Good you have the skills to fix the problems.keeping things coldJust read where keeping things cold in the TT frig. when its hot becomes an issue. What I found that works, before we leave I will fill up plastic zip lock storage bags with ice from the home refrig ice maker. They can be layed flat on the TT refig racks and are not as bulky as frozen bottles. I put them in the upper & lower section with the cold items. Keeps everything cold. and when you get to your destination put them in the upper freezer section for the return trip plus you have ice cubes if you need any during your stay. Although they may melt a little its no big deal, the water is in the bag. great for the cooler, and can be used over.Puzzled by lack of decent RV parks in N.C.Was looking to try the bike trails in Raleigh N.C. which seem to be quite nice from all information. Planned to take the new 28 ft TT down there wk end of April 26th.But after looking on RV park review website I cannot find anything within 20 miles that anyone reccomends except one about 22 miles away and when I called they are closed for renovation right now. Seems that the State of N.C. has some nice tourist attractions but not much on RV parks.Am I missing something?Re: Scam artistI work as a window clerk for the post office, you would be suprised at how many fall for these scams. In one week I had to tell 2 people that the so called post office money order they had for several hundred dollars was counterfeit. We take the fake and any info and forward to the postal inspectors. When we moved up to our new current 28ft TT we traded in our smaller one with the dealer.Re: how to read CAT scale numbers after weighingthanks for all the info I guess I may have pulled up too far because the call button was high, and I wanted to be able to reach it by standing up in the door of the truck.
