I mounted a truck sidebox on the pinbox and added 4, 6 volt batteries. They were cheaper than lead.Re: RV Barn solar pannelsI would want a controller that give the batteries a equalization charge every month or so. Look at the specs on what you have, it might have that capability.Re: Fifth Wheels and MotorcyclesMy 2 cents: you have to sacrifice too much living space with a Toyhauler. I think the Idaho Tote is legal in the Pacific Northwest.Re: Published Guides / ReviewsThey at least give you an indication of quality. I didn't know much about brands and a camper is a large expenditure. I considered it worthwhile and would do it again if I didn't have a lot of experience. That being said, a lot of companies went out of business and the brand names picked up by other companies which may or may not be of similar quality.Re: Owners experiences soughtArtic Fox owner here, just look at the size of the I beams.Re: Looking for snow advice - POSITIVE COMMENTS ONLYAs someone here said, Durango is on the southern edge of the mountains. Go East across Southern New Mexico then North to Durango. It's not worth the few miles saved to try coming across Colorado such as going up Wolf Creek Pass. Stay in the desert. Call for weather. Camp in New Mexico and drive your truck or wait for the roads to clear.Re: 1995 Minnie WinneMine came without a bypass. I had to install one.Re: Motorcycle mount on back of 5erI've been carrying either a DRZ or a DL650 on the back of my last two 5ers both AF. I use a 2 receiver hitch setup so the bike is pretty stable . I put a battery box on the pin box with four 6 volt batteries to counterbalance the weight on the rear. The system hasn't given me problems in over 10 years.Re: Towing boat questionThere's no problem in the mountain west states. California is... well is California. You'll probably have something like 300 pounds hitch weight so make sure you can handle that. Backing up is limited to just a few feet until the boat jack knifes. A rear TV camera is a great help in backing uo to to the boat and peace of mind on the road. I drop the boat, set up the camper and then go pick up the boat with the truck.Re: Low waterpressureI can't think of a reason why not. Give it a go and give us a report what happened.
