If I have issues underneath like I currently have with a leaking black tank it makes it difficult to work around. I don’t RV in the real cold months which I guess is it main purpose so I am not really sure if I truly need it. I was wondering if anyone else has ever removed the under belly and wished they had not.Re: Bike CarriersI ordered my Swagman bike carrier, a hitch for my minivan and even the wheels for my 5ver when I upgrade to 16" from etrailer. I was pleased with their service and will buy from them again. I purchased the XC that comes with the receiver that you bolt to the rear bumper. I had my spare also mounted on the bumper. I removed the spare from the bumper and installed a lift under the front end of the trailer to carry the spare underneath. I figured the weight of the bike rack and my bikes were not any heavier then the spare and it's hanger. This Swagman carrier has a bolt that when you put it in the receiver it has zero bounce the bike rack. I am totally pleased with the rack.Re: Polish front nose cap?My vote is with Durhamcutter. I have used "Protect All" on my RV and all my vehicles. Works great, last long and is very easy to use. I get it by the gallon at Camping World. You can also get a small spray bottle of it at Wal-Mart. You will really like the shine.Re: landing gearsI have a 2007 Laredo and had the landing gear issue in the beginning. Had the motor replaced while it was still under warranty and have not had any issues since.Re: Pullrite Super 5th Hitch and Lube PlateDeleted commentRe: slide topper slackI created a PVC insert to slide under my slide topper that causes the water to run off. It is made from 1" PVC pipe with Tees along it about every 3'. At each Tee I created a small support also out of PVC. It goes the length of the slide topper and works great. I just have to remember when I am closing up to pull it out. It is not glued together so it is very easy to just take it apart and put in the basement for the next stop. Also, I only put it in when I know there is rain expected during my stay.Re: Led light bulbsI did the bulb replacement on a couple in my fiver and was not happy with the amount of light output. I found a complete fixture on Amazon and ordered a couple to see how much light output they had. I was totally surprised with the light output and replaced all my interior fixtures. Here is the description to search for on Amazon - 2 of Thin-Lite (DIST-LED312-1) Bright White Double Surface Mount LED Dome Light. I am totally satisfied with each one of them.Re: RV blindsIt is extremely easy. Go to fixmyblinds.com. They have good instructions and a very good video on how to do it. I have done 2 in my RV and it went real well. The website also has the necessary items to fix the blinds. They show you how to determine what size of string you have in your blinds. I ordered the replacement string from them as well as the restringing tool. You will not have any problems doing it.Re: Is a slider hitch worth the extra money?I have the Pullrite Superglide and yes it does cost a little bit more but there has been several occasions that it surely saved my back window. You can always say just be careful when making a corner if you don't have a slider but it is the situations that you make quick decision that is going to be the trouble. I missed a corner once and decided at the last minute to turn around in a small parking lot and if I had not had my Superglide which is an automatic slider I would have definitely knocked my back window out. The cost for 1 rear window repair would justify the additional expense up front. The excellent part of the Pullrite Superglide is it is TOTALLY AUTOMATIC you don't have to do anything.Re: Cougar rear bike rackI moved my spare tire to underneath my fiver so I could put a bumper mounted bike rack like the one in that camping world catalog #49401. Mine is a Swagman model but I could not find the part number for it. For the pin to put the rack on it is threaded allowing the bike rack to not bounce at all. I usually carrier a road bike and a hybrid and they have no bounce at all. They also have an optional locking cable that connects to the hitch pin to lock the bikes down and reduce the potential for theft. I really like the rack and would highly recommend it. Found the Swagman Part #64663. I got mine from etrailer.com. http://www.etrailer.com/RV-and-Motorhome-Bike-Racks/Swagman/S64663.html I love it and it is truly a very stable bike rack.
