I installed the hitch on my 2013 Grand Caravan myself, and my light plug is under it, so it looks different from yours. Draw Tite instructions will not help if it was originally a dealer item. The best bet is to go back to the body shop and have them fix it.Re: LT265 x 75 R16 tires recommendation. travelnutz wrote: Fast Mopar, Hi Pot, from the Kettle and yes my Michelins are black. However, my truck was made IN Flint Michigan IN the USA by an American owned manufacturer unlike FCA which is Italian owned and run and who makes all their HD pickups and all the Hemi engines that are in them, in Mexico and then imported into the USA and Canada for selling and the profits go to Italy. I thank you for acknowledging and admitting what is true about FCA. Most won't! All my other vehicles, boats, RV's engines, were also made IN the USA by an American owned manufacturer. As you can see, I truely support American owned and made! You may want to answer that for yourself! However, my post said "for me" and did not include your name at all or even hint to such. The OP's thread IS about tires! My tires which I put on my RV's, boat trailers, the enclosed trailer are all Carlisle and were made in the USA. How about all yours, Mister Pot? Unfortunately, I do not work nor have ever worked for or have any connections to tire manufacturers like you do but I do want, demand, and require and will also pay for the best tires for our wheeled items and as Michelin has been head and shoulders above all others we have tried! Until another tire brand proves as good or better, will still be on our trucks or whatever. What's on your trucks and/or other vehicles or wheeled items as that's your choice. Because I treasure the occupants who are in the trucks/vehicle's I own or drive, I will always choose the best available. Not even adding in the well learned fabulous long term wear and excellent traction the Michelins have given me everytime! Cost a little more is actually cheap in the long run and is my choice. Yes, I will and always do support and purchase American made products from American owned manufacturers whenever possible and when their products give equal performance life and safety for my needs and wants. My long working life was as being an American owned and run design and engineering business and only did work for American manufacturers by choice as I'd see the owner in the mirror every day and knew exactly what he thought every minute! Just a hint! There's a huge difference between a major purchase such as a truck and just the 4 or 6 tires under it which will need to be replaced multiple times during the life of the truck that sits on top of them! I'm free to make my choices and you are free to make yours! Signed, The Kettle End of conversation! Back to The OP's inquiry tire topic... Wow. I am truly sorry to have used your time today, sir.Re: LT265 x 75 R16 tires recommendation. travelnutz wrote: For me, Michelin, Michelin, Michelin LTX MS2 265/75/16-E. Travelnutz, you are certainly free to spend your money any way you want. However, I find your chosen brand very interesting, given your history of blasting forum members who choose foreign brands. I work for a major OEM tire manufacturer that is an American company (choosing not to say the name to avoid being accused of promoting my employer). Again, to be clear, how you spend your money is your business, not my business. However, it seems that you are being very inconsistent. Many tire companies build tires in the US, but only a small handful are actually American companies, and Michelin is not one of them. And, before you slam me for being a Mopar enthusiast, I fully know that FCA is Italian, but that is not the point of this post. To the OP, sorry to hijack.Re: New tv arrived earlyThat truck looks absolutely great.Re: do you own a 3500 reg cab ram dually Old-Biscuit wrote: Shorter cab, shorter box, shorter wheel base---gonna ride like a truck :B Yes, but not a shorter bed. If you are somehow implying that the government is going to "ease up on commercial enterprises," I can assure you that has not been happening. Chemical plants are under such strict regulation and scrutiny that it is difficult to even keep the doors open. Every little suspected event and every little potential event is reported to regulatory authorities and investigated in such a thorough way. Chemical plants are much much cleaner than in the past. I know what it was like in the 1990's, and the industry is significantly cleaner today.Re: Ram Payloads- Seriously||| GordonThree wrote: Power wagon isn't a tow/haul vehicle, it's a rock crawling / off roading vehicle. What's the payload # on Ford's factory rock crawling package, if they even have one? I'm happy with the 3300 lbs payload on my 2017 Ram 2500. A friend has a 2011 Ford Raptor and the payload is around 880-900 lb.Re: Truck SalespersonSorry Bobbo, my mistake. Looks like you already bought a new Ford. I missed that earlier. Congratulations on the new truck.Re: Truck Salesperson Bobbo wrote: I actually had an honest salesman while shopping for a new truck last month. I was at a RAM dealer and had a new kid who had never sold vehicles before. He was walking me around the 1/2 ton trucks and I was telling him I was only interested if they had a 3.92 axle, not the 3.21 axle. He dutifully went around looking at the stock section of the window sticker. Finally, I found a 3.92 truck and showed him that the stock section of the window sticker still said 3.21, but the options section had 3.92 so he had to go back and look at all of them again. Finally, he said he had no idea what those numbers meant, so I explained it to him. Nice to have someone who is honest. I respect the fact that he could admit he did not know what it meant. That is so much better than blowing smoke. That is the kind of person I like to deal with for sure. I hope you buy a vehicle from him.Re: Firestone Transforce tiresI am an engineer with a major American OEM tire manufacturer (choosing to not say which one). It is true that OEM tires wear out quicker than replacements. It is a fact, not just someone's imagination. And, I will also say that Michelins crack sooner than any others on the market. Aside from that, this is an interesting thread.
