Avria software updater
I installed the free Avria software updater and it scanned and found eight out of date softwares. When I clidked update it just takes me to their ad for the Avria Pro. Am I doing something wrong?

Schlep 1967 had it correct. I called Penn Dot, he had to leave the phone three times to get the correct answer. If the combination is under 26,000 Lbs, no class A license is required. Thanks everyone for your input.

PA Drivers License Class
I am hearing conflicting statements about license class required. Some are saying if the fifth-wheel is over 10,000 Lbs I need a class A license. Other places say if the tow vehicle is over 26,000 Lbs you need a class A license. Others say if the combined weight is over 26,000 Lbs I need a class A license. I am waiting to hear back from Penn Dot on this matter.

I had this problem in FL last year on the same model refrigerator. I found that the switch on the vent fan outside behind the refrigerator had failed. Had a new switch from Amazon in two days and everything is good now.

I have a 2003 Jayco fifth-wheel that came with twin Iota converters. They have a smart charger unit that can be plugged into the converter and as it says, it makes it a smart charger. This will maintain your battery and not over charge it. I leave mine plugged in all the time and check the water level regularly. I got five years out of my last pair of batteries.

We have the Trailer Saver air hitch. It was the first generation so it was not designed in two pieces for easy removal. We have been using it for 15 years with a 14,000 Lb fifth-wheel. It works very well as I have never had a non-air type hitch for comparison. My understanding is if the pump fails it can still be used as a conventional non-air hitch. Going down the road going over bumps I look back at the trailer and it is slowly pulsing up and down on the air cushions as if it is being rocked to sleep. Good luck with your decision.

any info on Rt 17 in Virginia
Interested in getting from Rt 301 in VA to Virginia Beach. I could go to I95/I64 to the Beach. Wondered how Rt 17 was for towing fifth-wheel. Are there a lot of small towns to go through that would slow me down? Thanks.

Some years ago I went to G rated tires. I bought cast aluminum wheels for the 110 PSI rated tires. Last year I had a blow out on one and when I had it replaced the tire manager told the tech to check the wheel. He found that the cast wheel had a leak in it. When I got home I bought forged aluminum wheels that have a higher weight rating and I hope these will hold up better. Good luck.
