Nice shop building.Re: So what did you do to your Truck Camper today? tad94564 wrote: Had the entrance door lock it self at Salt Point State Park on Sunday night. Broke out the door glass, and now I'm in the market for replacement glass, and a replacement door lock (a good one, not the cheap junk that Host used..). I also replaced the factory alternator with a 200AMP big frame G3 on the Superduty, and boy does it work great! I want to add bigger wiring between the alternator and the battery. call your local glass shop about a piece of tempered glass.Re: So what did you do to your Truck Camper today?Just returned home from spending 10 days camping at the lake.Re: So what did you do to your Truck Camper today? Would love to see some pics and a blog of the progress when you start. Yeah, doing a ground up rebuild/remodel, the old girl's frame has been damaged too many times and repairs are near wall-off projects, so I got a set of blue prints to make the mark 2 bigger and better, while keeping the classic look as much as possible (gonna likely mix the original aluminum with some filon). The original KIT will supply alot of materials for the new KIT (keeping the badging and as much of the KIT look as possible, down to recycling the interior wall board, though on a far beefier frame. The new camper will likely be at closer in weight to some of her successors than the original 2200lb camper she started out as due to things like going to a 2x lumber frame, instead of the 1x that she originallly was built with (and why she suffered frame failures in several spots). I have a thread that was my starting spot for plotting out some other changes I am planning on trying to make, including building my own version of a snap n nap from the Amerigos/Kamp Kings for the rear, since she'll be reborn as a side entry unit. where is the thread located? Sounds like,a great plan.Re: So what did you do to your Truck Camper today? As for the naysayers that think a project should be junked, due to cost. I say anyone who buys a new truck camper off the lot paid more than what it is worth, so really it just comes down to what you want to spend your money on. JMHO.Re: RV Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here! One reason fuel is so high are wages they are willing to pay workers starting at the ground level. My Son in Law just got offered a job working in the oil fields in virginia, gauranted $6000.00 dollars a month, plus $300.00 per day, when they work on a rig. He has no experiance on a rig at all! Those wages are just rediculous.Re: Lance 9000 Projectlooks like your getting a good start on the project, keep us posted.
