If I may ask, where do they live, I grew up just 20 minutes away from Ukiah. They have had some torrential downpours in the last month there. I know I looked at a smaller trailer in Ukiah years ago, I had a small truck at the time and so was more concerned with the weight. The guy sat there with a calculator doing the weights with water and such, and we came up with very different numbers, he swore up and down the weight of water was 7lbs/gallon. The weight is actually 8.34lbs/gallon, and my water treatment licenses dictate that I better know what I am talking about. Actually, you can do it without lifting the bed at all, thats how I installed our puck kit. You just need to be part contortionist. Cost was $260 for the kit and $80 for the wiring so now I still need a hitch and will be buying one soon. I'm still not sure about a slider yet as the Heartland trailers have the "tight turn technology" and I am only going south and back once a year and then to a summer park so wont be driving it a whole bunch. One of the things I noticed as a FL condo-owning Snowbird is that our local water utility charges us all kinds of customer fees resulting in monthly costs around $36 even when there's zero use. I can only imagine how they must stick it to the RV parks.... That $36 is what pays for the pipes and the employees to maintain them, aka fixed costs for a water utility. I live in Tucson, and while I don't need 4 wheel drive while hooked to the 5th wheel, in order to get up the gravel part of the yard without spinning the tires that I have to go up in order TO hook up I need it. To each their own I suppose, I like having it as a backup in case I need it. Not to mention the flooded roads and **** washed onto the roads here in monsoon season, I go through the sand washed onto the road fine, my 2 wheel drive brethren, not so much210Views0likes0CommentsRe: Need to get shot
