We were preparing to take a trip but discovered no power from the battery even though it was fully charged. Our son looked at it today and discovered the plastic cover over one fuse at the battery had gotten hot and melted the rubber covering. My Dh doesn't know anything about it and said we would need to take it in to a repair shop. Just wondering if someone could give us any info that would help. We have a Jayco Whitehawk travel trailer.Re: Food recommendations for chemo patient.I forgot to mention he is also a diabetic.Food recommendations for chemo patient. My dh has an uncle that has been diagnosed with cancer. His wife passed a few years ago and they were childless. We both love him very much and want to help him all we can thru this. I would like ideas from you folks if you have had experience with preparing food for a cancer patient. I know I could meet with a dietician, but thought some of you folks that have been thru this would have great ideas. ThanksRe: Keeping mice out.Been reading your posts. I've been researching info on different products and discovered a product called fresh cab. Like to know if anyone has used this product and whether it was effective.Re: Can't stand spidersThanks everyone, I like the raid idea. DH sprays the home defense around inside and outside regularly. Just want to make sure we don't have any surprise visitors since I have noticed a few signs. We've had zero food in TT this summer since it's been so hot. Non aerosol seems the way I would like to go.Can't stand spidersHaven't posted in a while, hope this isn't a silly question. Our travel trailer hasn't been used since our return from Fl. In March. When I go into the TT I feel like I have gotten into a web, even though don't see them. My question, would it be a good idea to use a bug bomb to make sure we don't have a spider problem since we have plans to travel as the weather is cooling somewhat. I know if I do this process no food left in but what else do I need to know. My DH thinks this isn't necessary but I don't want spiders crawling in bed with me at night.Re: Best Sticks For Cooking Over Campfire?Just a word of warning. Our son had a freak accident while toasting a marshmallow for a s'more. Our family had been out to dinner to celebrate his birthday. Our granddaughter whispered that we were invited to come over to enjoy a campfire and make s'mores a surprise for their dad. The big campfire was built, had marshmallows, graham crackers and hershey bars but nothing to toast the marshmallows. Had plenty in our rv but our son said he would cut some from sticks. They worked great until birthday boy wanted one last s'more. The marshmallow started to blaze he jerked it back, marshmallow slid and it flipped dead center to his eye while still blazing. He was very lucky no permanent eye damage but he had a serious burn to his eyelid and around his eye. Weird things can happen.Re: Alabama to close state parks.Governor Bentley held a meeting yesterday at Guntersville State Park and the first thing he said we are not closing the Guntersville park. A couple of representatives held a meeting at Desoto State Park and reassured a big crowd of concerned citizens that we need to stay calm, the budget hasn't been completed. One made the statement that we may have an increase to our parks when the budget is finalized. Folks are banning together to make sure our parks stay open for all to enjoy.Alabama to close state parks. Our governor has given an ultimatum to close several state parks next month and additional parks beginning in 2016. He's trimming down budget if he can't get his new tax increase passed. I hope he's just using this as a scare tactic. Trimming state troopers, closing clinics that treat the mentally ill. The economic impact will be destructive to our state.. Guntersville state park is still in a recovery from the destruction of the 2011 tornado that really impacted that park. It not only has the campground it has a beautiful lodge, cabins, golf course, fishing, boating. The park is beginning to make a comeback. Really hope he gets things settled before he carries out his threat.Re: Stuck between the brand I want and the trailer I want...ekirkland,we purchased all 3 Jayco's that we have owned from Dunlap rv. Dunlap Tn. They now have another dealership located in Ringold Ga. which is closer 75miles from our North Al. home. They have 4 or 5 dealerships.
