We do not leave here until mid March so I am takin fall suggestions and making a list.Re: Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia routesThank you, thank you! Just the information I was hoping for.Re: Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia routesThanks! sounds like the hwy 72 highway would be a good route. Yes, we have been to Jack Daniels. The day we were there was a Sunday. No samples! LOLTennessee, Alabama and Georgia routesWe are planning a trip to Washington, DC from the Panhandle of Texas. The direct route takes us on I-40 through Nashville. We are wanting to veer south and go to the northeast corner of Alabama, northwest corner of Georgia to do a little genealogy search of that area. Our question is: Is the road from Memphis, Hwy. 72, across to Huntsville, AL and over toward Chattanooga that much worse than going toward Nashville, cutting down a bit and over towards Murfreesboro and down I-24? It shows it to be shorter by take a longer time, probable due to the scenery and hills. We don't mind the sight seeing but don't want it to be really much harder to pull a trailer through. Thanks for any input!Re: Roll Call Alaska 2014We are hoping to go to Alaska next summer from here in Texas and have been following the 2013 bunch and a few blogs.Re: Roll Call Alaska 2013Janet, I have to ask that our name be removed from the list. Darn it! Hopefully next year. We still want to go but we have some time limits this summer and hubby does not want to be limited by the NEED to get home and me rushing him. :) It's a LONG drive home. Thanks! I look forward to learning from all that go.Re: Roll Call Alaska 2013We have been looking forward to a trip to Alaska this summer. We were supposed to do a cruise in Aug. with our nephew and his wife but she unexpectedly passed away. Now we are talking taking our trailer and dog and driving Alaska. The debate is whether to drive the whole round trip, doing the ferry for some ocean view, or just driving up, taking a cruise ship and tour to Denali, then flying back to our vehicle. Listening to all of you we seem to be leaning to the driving. Thanks for all the information here. Maybe we will see you soon!
