Re: First 5th Wheel--Bad Braking???
I had my trailer back at the dealer twice due to braking being jerky at times and sometime barely braking. Both times they said nothing wrong with the camper so it must be in my truck controller. Bringing it home a few months ago and slowly coming down my street, I activated my controller and watched front drivers side lock. Nothing from other three. So that week I jacked it up and pulled the hub, everything looked good. Pulled the rear hub and found the wiring on the magnet chewed up and shorting out. Checked the other side and was good so I replaced the one magnet and all is good. Sent a picture to the cell phone to both the service manager and owner of the dealership, still no acknowledgement.179Views0likes0CommentsRe: Rain, Leak, Dicor but... what happening in walls?
Not to be the bearer of bad news but, I had the same problem with a Wildcat. Same build as the Cougar. The front four feet of the sides are plywood before it gets to the aluminum framing. The thin wood the filon is glued to, is glued to the plywood. The front framing behind the plastic cap is wood. When it leaks, it soaks the plywood and the problem begins. You reseal thinking the problem is fixed but a year down the road, it delaminates while driving down the road and starts bowing out. You can replace the plywood but the leak is a common problem due it the movement of the front cap. I repaired mine twice before I traded it in on a new unit.405Views0likes0CommentsRe: Lippert 3.0
Leveling didn't take that long but resetting the control did. Didn't get a manual with the unit so I was having to google and utube it. All the instructions said to push the up button five times then the down button five times to set. Could not get any reaction. Finally found one blog that said ten pushes rather than five. That worked. Also have discovered that I have the Lippert 2.0 rather than the 3.0. Guess Dutchman is trying to get rid of old stock. As for the out of level being noticeable, it was half a bubble off on the living room floor. Felt like we were walking up hill going forward.284Views0likes0Comments
