Alternative to I-70 through Indiana needed
Does anyone have any recommendations for alternate routes to I-70 through Indiana? We just can't take the rough ride and constant bumping any longer. We like to travel from Maryland's Eastern Shore to explore various areas out west and need to find a new route to get past Indianapolis. We love to travel on US 36 through Missouri and Kansas and would like to find an equivalent road east of the Mississippi, or any other road that won't beat us and our truck and fifth wheel to death. We don't mind going some extra distance for a calmer ride. We have taken I-40 before but don't always want to go that far south. We are looking for suggestions and advice on the best route to take from Omaha, Nebraska to Capulin Volcano National Monument in New Mexico. We will be traveling in a 30 ft fifth wheel and large dually pickup in late July. We are unfamiliar with the roads in this area of the country and welcome any recommendations or advice you can offer. We are looking for a campground for an overnight stop in July anywhere along the New Jersey turnpike, New Jersey 287 north to New York 87 to Connecticut 84 to Hartford area. We are flexible about where we can stop along this area. Just looking for safe, quiet overnight stop with electric. We will be in a 34 foot fifth wheel and dually pickup and are headed to Maine. We have a 2010 Jayco Eagle 313 RKS. It has a Progressive Dynamics Model PD9280A converter. For years the batteries would not stay up to full charge. Recently I changed the 50 amp, factory installed, in line circuit breaker (CV) to a 100 amp CV. This solved the problem, allowing up to 96 amps/13.7 volts to the batteries.271Views0likes0Comments
