It's been over 30 years since I was further than about 50 miles S. of Harrison.Re: Best pay attention to your Gray Tank Dump Valve T-HandleActually, that "should" be a relatively easy fix, at least on a trailer. You would have to lower the underbelly, and figure out which cable is causing the problem. Trace it back to the valve on the tank, the cable is attached to the valve by a set screw. First you could try pushing the valve to the closed position to see if enough of the cable comes out. If not, loosen the set screw, then push the cable to the closed position. Also, there are 2 nuts on the cable near the handle, one on the outside near the pull handle, and one on the other side of the wall, loosen the 2 nuts, and the cable & housing should be able to be pulled out.Re: Firearm deposit at border?I've heard of people getting a safe deposit box for handguns at a bank. Of course you don't tell them what is in the safe deposit box, and before you take it in the bank, make sure it's in a box or something so it isn't apparent it's a firearm.Re: RV Toilet TreatmentI use a product called Unique. It's a "green" product that's not supposed to harm the environment, safe for septic tanks, etc. When I dump the tank, all I see coming out is brown water, the only time I see solids or TP, is if it was used recently. http://www.uniquedistributing.com/product_info.php?products_id=85Re: Michigan SP in OctoberLast summer we stayed at Dutch Treat in Holland. Nice campground.Re: Garmin Nuvi 2597 issues, Help!!!I agree, it may need to be rebooted, but I'm not familiar with that model, so can't help you. One thing to keep in mind is that even though you are sitting still, and have been for may 15 min. to hours, if the GPS is on, it's still receiving from the satellite, and as the signal strength varies it will "think" it's moving, as it gets varying signals from different satellites. You won't notice it on the MPH icon, but if you clear out the moving history, & speed & check it an hour later, it will look like you've been on a one hour drive. I'd call Garmin in the morning & talk to them about it. There tech support people are great, & should be able to help you, at least they can tell you how to reboot it! Their tech support number is: 913-397-8200 toll-free: 1-800-800-1020Re: Full Time RV in North Carolina IssuesFrom the sounds of things, NC laws, and/or zoning, may possibly prevent this, but have you considered buying a lot, having utilities installed, and parking it on your own property? May not work in the city limits, but possibly just outside city limits in a rural area.Re: Heartland vs. MontanaOne thing to consider, no matter who makes it, all of them get the components from the same suppliers, and all of them hire from the human race. So the fridge, axels, AC, etc. will all have the same success/fail rate. As humans, we all make mistakes, and have good & bad days. Personally I feel that where RV manufactures are dropping the ball is that (at least as far as I know), most or all of them have a quota of rigs they want built in a day. When they have met their quota for the day, the employees can go home. No matter if it's noon, or 6:00, so naturally everyone one wants to go home early, so they are rushing to get things done, in the rush, something may be accidentally overlooked, or intentionally overlooked so everyone could leave early.Re: Which RV GPS?X3 on the Garmin GPS. I bought the 760LMT, and love it! But the 760 LMT has been discontinued, and replaced with the RV 660LMT, basically the same thing, but "new & improved. I just got a sale flyer from Cabela's and they have one on sale for $30.00 off MSRP $329.99 sale price is $299.99. Sale is good 9-8 thru 9-18. Don't know, but I'm thinking it's in store only sale.Re: Tire issue on NEW 5erBack in 2003 I had a new Chevy. Had it less than a month, got home one day and there was a big thorn from a locust tree sticking out of the sidewall. Don't know where it came from, as it had never been off pavement & there were no locust trees in the areas I had been. I looked at it & the more I looked at it the madder I got. I didn't want to have to replace a new tire with less than 500 miles on it. The more I thought about it, I decided to plug it & see what happened, knowing plugs don't go in the sidewall. Got the stuff ready, pulled the thorn out & air started leaking out. Put in the plug & the tire kept air & didn't have any problems. Stayed that way until it was time to replace all 4 tires. You bet I was lucky!
