She is our 5 1/2 year old Dogue de Bordeaux (French Mastiff) as we are always leaving her with a dog sitter when we go away anywhere and I wanted to take her with us. She did not do well. She is skittish and scared of loud noises. Sat and Sun nite the wind really howled and she was FREAKING OUT, just like she does at home. I had to take her out of the trailer and put her in the back of my van on her bed. She did not get alot of sleep. She is an inside dog, so being outside all that time was not to her liking. She was filthy when we got home and she had a lot of redness and irritation on her tummy and backside from being on the ground. She also does not do well in the heat which is funny considering the first 3 years of her life she lived in the desert of California and in Vegas. Oh well, at least we tried. Now we know she is not cut out to be a camping dog.Re: Family Camping GroupsWould love to find a family and/or couples camping group here in the Bay Area. We live in Hercules and just got a new Starcraft PUP, which we took out for the 1st time last weekend for Labor Day. WOuld love to find other families who love to camp. OUr daughter will be 3 in November, if that helps. No one in our immediate family really likes to camp, so we are looking to make some friends in the camping community, and to socialize in the off-season too. Email me through this site if there are any clubs out there. Thanks!
