Bonus, you can ice fish from it also. http://www.glaciericehouse.com/dealersRe: Cleaning Awnings and roofsFor the awning, I use a Thetford spray on cleaner. You apply, roll the awning back up for some time, and then spray off with a hose. I have had success using this product, but also use the elbow-grease method with a mild cleaner in warm water. Looks like new after 5 years. My main suggestion is preventing mold from forming in the awning when it's rolled up. I found a suggestion on this forum of adding 2 liter bottles (modified) to cap off the ends when it's stored. This is to stop moisture from wicking into the closed awning. Works great and I use them every time it's in storage.Re: I-75 Detour around DetroitGet on I94 at either crossing and head to 275. Avoid rush hour at all costs. :)Re: Electric Tongue Jack HeightJust an update for those interested. The Barker 32454 does clear the lift gate of a Ford Expedition by less than an inch. I rotated the power head 90degrees and it was enough to clear. A call to Barker customer service inquiring about an outdoor cover resulted in a free cover being sent also. Nice bonus! I need to follow up with Barker to find out why sometimes (not always) the UP goes DOWN, and the Down goes UP. I had thought I made a decent effort at cleaning the metal for a ground contact, but maybe not.Re: Matching Tire and Wheel Capacities (follow up)"Not that I plan to go 80 mph, but I like that margin of error. That is, I'd rather go 60-65 mph on 80 mph tires versus going 60-65 mph on 65 mph tires. That's my motivation." That's was my motivation also...I just did the exact change you're thinking of back in August by upgrading to Goodyear Endurance. I inflate them to 60psi instead of the 65psi and I won't travel over 65mph. With two trips completed since then, there's been no issue. I also added a TPMS for my peace of mind.Re: Electric Tongue Jack HeightI found the Barker installation manual on-line and it does say this model can have it's powerhead rotated if there's a clearance issue with the liftgate. So I guess i'll take a gamble and see if it works with my Expeditions liftgate. Thanks for the replies.Electric Tongue Jack HeightMy 5 y/o manual crank tongue jack just bit the dust. Luckily before our trip next weekend. I had been thinking of going electric and decided to order the Barker 32454 on Amazon. Of course after I ordered it I thought...could I still open my Ford Expedition liftgate with this new jack. My manual jack is 15" high from the mounting surface and the clearance between the top of the jack and the door swing is 6". I cannot find any dimensions on this Barker jack and their customer service is closed for the weekend. Anyone have one of these jacks who could provide me with height from the mounting surface to top of unit and distance from the center of the jack's post to the most forward edge? Looking for a reason not to cancel the order, but may have to.Re: Heating duct airflow improvementThanks for all the replies. I measured the duct size last night and it's 4" with a 2" duct at the T fitting. Not much more than a light breeze gets thru the 2" ducts. Sine no one sells a 4x4x2 wye connection, I'm buying a 4x4x4 wye at home depot with a 4x3 reducer and upping the size of the smaller ducts to 3". All I need now is a free day to do it.Heating duct airflow improvementMy DW has asked if I can improve the airflow in the trailer now that things are starting to cool off here in Michigan and we're using the furnace. The heating unit blows air well in the trailer and keeps the central part of the trailer well heated, but the ends of the trailer (bathroom & bedroom) have 2" flexible ducting that T's off from larger size ducting (I believe 5" diameter)and there's minimal airflow with the smaller tubing. I was wondering if anyone has replaced their "T" fitting with a "wye" fitting and if that increased the airflow through the smaller ducting? I've read about the dangers of restricting airflow, but thought the "Wye" fitting might actually increase airflow as long as I maintain the original larger output. Any thoughts or successful mods to solve this minor issue?Re: AntennaThe omnidirectional antenna that came with our trailer was useless in rural areas. I mounted a short pvc pipe near the front hitch to use as a flagpole mount. The pvc is permanently attached with u-bolts to the trailer frame. I bought this $30 motorized antenna from Walmart mounted it to the top of a flagpole and get more channels than I need. We went from no channels in Ludington State Park in Michigan to 40 channels (including several Wisconsin stations) depending on time of day. I still am able to fly Old Glory on the flagpole. It's my one modification I get a lot of positive comments on when camping. The flagpole and antenna is stored for travel obviously, but only take a few minutes to set back up. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ematic-HD-TV-Motorized-Outdoor-Antenna-with-150-Mile-Range/46998188
