I agree with the southernmost rt to Amarillo and then work my way over Monarch. Its strange how the weather patterns are around Montrose, as stated, Gunnison, Ouray, and Telluride get lots more snow than Montrose. Im looking forward to getting this moving thing over asap.Re: Florida to Montrose Colo. in the winter?I love Ouray, we cant wait to get out of this third word country-rat race. Shoulda done it 30 years ago.Florida to Montrose Colo. in the winter?Hi folks, we recently bought a home in Montrose and need to move our household goods there in late Feb or early March. We will be towing a 24' trailer with a 40' M/H. I would assume that the southern route thru Texas would be better at that time of year? Does anyone have any input as to a route that would be most likely passable during that time frame? I considered I70 but the pass at the tunnel might be tricky. Or maybe get on 50 and cross at Monarch pass? Or perhaps to come up thru Durango? Any help would be appreciated.Re: Hi way 550 in a big coachIf I remember correctly, the main issue is the hairpin turns. You will need to time your entry into the turn when another large vehicle coming from the other way. Not really a problem since you going about 20 mph in those turns and you can see if its clear or not. Beautiful drive!Re: Is it common..even when the heater is workingHeat? Still running the A/C in Fla.Re: RV Park ReviewsWe use them about 90% of the time and are usually accurate. If you read several reviews you can average out the posting to get a decent overall idea of the park you are considering.Re: Dodge Pickup As Tow VehicleWe towed a 09 Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 for over 20,000 miles with no issues. Towed with a Tiffin Phaeton 400 hp. Couldnt tell if I was there or not, no noticeable reduction in fuel ecomomy.Re: Feedback from current Dutchman Voltage RV ownersI added a third one on mine and ran all 3 on 50 amp shore power. The genny would only run 2.Re: Looks like we are owners... panic attackX2 accsys wrote: Have you checked the rails (where the sides join the roof) for cracks, especially where they are painted black. Also check the wet bay floor for softness and the DS living room slide floor for softness. These are known trouble areas for that model and year (as well as many others including ours). Tiffin will fix these on warranty for a couple more years but you need to be aware of it. Re: Cummins ISL hiccupFinally figured it out, the primary is a 2 micron and then the secondary is a water separating 10 micron. I took off the 2 micron and dumped the fuel from it and it was clear. I then cut the filter open and found it to be fouled with a black very fine looking power like material. Changed both filters and cleaned the Winn filter and ran it 250 miles with no issues. Picked up some extra filters just in case it happens again. Now Im wondering about the generator filter?
