The main roads were not a problem in NL when we were there, but some of the side roads were. From the ferry, we took the Trans Canada up to Gros Morne, then 430 up to St. Anthony (L'Anse aux Meadows and Pistolet Bay PP) without problems; it's the main route up there. But on the return we tried the side loop road 432 that splits off at the St Anthony airport; and that was very rough. Maybe better now though, it's been several years.Re: Reefer drain hose thingy ma bobOur filter-plug also stops draining whenever the little tray it rests in fills up with water, which happens often when it's very humid. So I pull the hose out the frig's side vent and let it drain outside at those times.Re: Channel-Port aux BasquesAnd Gros Morne ... dam you've got me already planning our next trip out there.Re: Covering frig ventI know rear range hood vent will be a problem. Dust gets into the trailer from there all the time. Will plug/tape that up while travelling. But hopefully the dust that gets into the back of the frig will just fall to the bottom of its compartment (sealed away from the trailer interior) and can be sucked up regularly. It's the Dempster Hwy up in the Yukon that I'm worried about.Re: Covering frig ventOK, that answers that. No compressed air, but we will have a vacuum cleaner that I can use to suck and blow out the dust. Will just plan on doing that every few hundred kms. Thanks all.Covering frig ventOur 8 cu ft Dometic propane/120VAC frig has a lower vent on the back of the trailer and a roof vent. We will be running the frig on 120VAC when traveling this summer, but as I understand it, that's still heater based and the coils still require ventilation for proper cooling. We're going to be traveling 100's of kms on dusty roads. Initially I was thinking to cover the lower back frig vent to keep the dust out. But maybe not ... Any suggestions? The frig has to be working while we travel, and I'm not switching to a household frig at this point .Re: New Truck and Tires advice StylinLP38 wrote: ... Today I have appt to test the 2018 Chevy High Country 6.2l with its 22" tires. It sucks that it's payload is 1333 on the door sticker but I can probably gain 50 lbs when I sell those 22" tires. My current trailer is under 5000 lbs loaded up. ... Yes, 1333# payload is rather low for an Outdoors RV trailer. They typically have high tongue weights when loaded, often over 15% like mine. Another example: the 20FQ (4400# dry, 6200# GVWR) is reported to run over 1000# TW. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f282/20fq-questions-399182.htmlRe: Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride set for Oct 26th !So when do you anti-Tesla folks predict Tesla will go belly up, Chapt. 11? Any predictions? There's bonds coming due at the end of this year? Will that be it?Re: Costco GC2 BattsThanks for that. Good info. Beginning to think I'm too cautious with my GC2s.Re: Anyone Have 1,500 watts Solar? time2roll wrote: 60 cell, Vmp is about 360, Vmax is a bit over 400. Thanks, didn't know that household solar Vs were allowed to get this high. :E
