As dougrainer was asking, is your AC controlled by a wall thermostat or by controls up on the AC itself? I was in Southern CA, with temps in the low 80s. Controls are wall mounted thermostat.Re: AC quit blowing cold wa8yxm wrote: Well the best place is on the roof at the compressor connections but that is not practical A good place in a 30 amp RV is any outlet In a 50 any outlet on the same leg as the Air Conditioner Plug in volt meters Designed specifically for this Thanks. That is helpfulRe: AC quit blowing cold Lynnmor wrote: Picinisco wrote: CA Traveler wrote: Low voltage? Could cause overheating and compressor shutdown. A voltmeter is your friend. Where would I check the voltage At any outlet. Best to have a plugin digital voltmeter operating all the time in a easy to see place. Turn off the air conditioner when voltage is down to 105. Thanks. Never thought that could be an issue.Re: AC quit blowing cold opnspaces wrote: How long were you on the roof? Is it possible the evaporator was frozen up and it thawed while you were cleaning the coils? No ice. But the AC was blowing warm air so I feel that if it froze then it thawed when the compressor shut down. Is the system designed to do that and stay shut down until the switch is thrown and then start back up when switched back on.Re: AC quit blowing cold CA Traveler wrote: Low voltage? On our return the AC was blowing warm. I switched it off, went on the roof, took the cover off, cleaned the coil which had just a little bit of dirt on it. When I put everything back together the AC ran fine. Not sure that the minimal amount if dirt was the cause. Any ideas?Re: Remote Fridge Cutoff Switch wildtoad wrote: Question... Is your fridge on the driver side? Mine is and should I desire a switch to turn it on or off while fueling, I’d do something with the outlet it plugs into which is behind the lower vent cover. Because my Dometic is in a slide I have two vent covers. Passenger side but I can run a wire to a switch on the driver's side.Re: Remote Fridge Cutoff Switch JBarca wrote: yes you can install a properly sized amperage 12 volt toggle switch in the incoming power line to the fridge. At the fridge vent on the side of the camper, take that vent cover off and find the 12 volt DC power line connection. Install the switch in that power line. You can then figure out where to mount the switch that is not affected by rain water and towing in the rain. Hope this helps John Yes that helps. ThanksRe: Remote Fridge Cutoff Switch winniman wrote: You could also shut off the main propane valve if you are already outside. I am trying to come up with a toggle switch that just shuts off the 12V to the fridge control panel. Shutting off the main propane will shut off the pilot light once the gas remaining in the feed line is used up. This will then trigger the igniter to spark to try and restart the pilot for a few cycles before shutting down. Turning the propane back on will not message the igniter to start over. You will need to wait 5 minutes till the gas reaches the fridge again then go back into the rv and restart the fridge.Remote Fridge Cutoff SwitchIn the discussion on driving with the fridge running the only issue I see is having the propane pilot on while in a gas station. I am sure I saw somewhere that a remote switch near the outside front of the RV can be used to turn on and off the 12V to the fridge control board. Has anyone heard of this, have this or added a switch like this.
