The new trailer has 4500 lbs of pin weight so the tractor will not lift that with the three point. Other than that it has been very usefull! Re: Gunk in Onan Marquis 7000 carbThe only new parts I put on the carb was the vacuum line going from the choke diaphram to the carb body. I just took everything apart, cleaned the metal parts in the sonic cleaner, and cleaned the rubber and plastic parts with alcohol/acid brush. I figured if I broke something I would just fork out the $180 for a new carb. I did see a rebuild kit for $80 but for a $100 more buy the new carb. The only thing that didn't do well was the paint on the bowl in the sonic cleaner. It left a funky pattern on it :)Re: Gunk in Onan Marquis 7000 carbI don't think this stuff made it past the fuel filter. The secondary fuel filter has a 12 micron rating. This is gas that gelled in the fuel bowl itself. The genset is on a race hauler (trailer) with a 15 gallon tank. I think my only option is to add Stabil because draining 15 gallons each time would be a pain.Gunk in Onan Marquis 7000 carbRebuilt the carb and cleaned it in a sonic cleaner. I can't believe the amount of gelled gas that was in the bowl. The unit ran fine until a couple of weeks ago it would stall under load. Cleaned carb: There was 5 times this in the bowl: Re: Flipping Axles?.....Well kind ofI ended up lifting my torsion axle trailer 4" to keep from scraping the rear end. I don't trust my own welds to have 10 tons rolling down the highway on them so I took it to a semi frame shop to be lifted. Re: Sureflo 5,7 Water PumpI have a 5.7 and one day it just kept running at a slow speed and would not shut off. looked at my pressure gauge and it read over 100 psi!. I have now gutted the "smart sensor" stuff and am using it as a transfer pump now.Re: Wheel bearing Grease 93mastercraft wrote: My axles are AK-LO Duralube bearing/hubs. Does any one have experience with those? I don't have the EZ lubes. I have three of those axles under my rig and I had to replace 8 of the 12 shoes due to grease contamination. The previous owner overgreased them and it blew past the seals. Did he follow the directions or not I don't know but the hubs were not full of grease when I pulled them.Re: RV TotaledIn 2009 we had a tree fall on our 30' Prowler TT. Just poked a small hole in the rubber membrane roof. Insurance company told us to take it to a repair shop and get an estimate. They said the repair would be $3000. The insurance company said they would pay $2800 for the repair or $5900 to total the camper. It had delam. issues so we said take that turd! We only paid $6200 for it and used it for two years. On a side note, the insurance company sent a transport company to haul it to auction. I was sick and at home the day they came and picked it up. I could see the trailer from the couch and one of the guys looked in the trailer to check things out and when he stepped back out, he held the door open and peed in my driveway!Re: which teeny car for toy hauler? The trailer with the Jeep in it weighs 20K lbs and the truck weighs 8500 lbs. The truck is a deleted 08 Dodge Ram with 19.5s under it.Re: which teeny car for toy hauler? fsujeeper wrote: i need to see more of that jeep and its hauler please. mark No problem :) Hauler is a Storm Cyclone. Double frame, all cabnets and woodwork are solid oak. Nice camper but heavy! 20' of camper and 28' of garage. Jeep Is a 2000 TJ with 35"x14.5" Nitto Mud Grapplers. Almost fully armored @ 4200 lbs.
