All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Which Roadside Assistance to select this yearYes, I have heard quite a few bad stories about good Sam roadside assistance. However, I don't think I want to try changing tires along the side of the road anymore. I am going to call my State Farm agent and see what they offer since I have my RV insurance there. AAA is my other option I think.Which Roadside Assistance to select this yearIt has come time to renew my Good Sam Roadside Assistance plan. However, you now have to pay $149.95 for their Platinum Plan to get coverage for a 5th wheel trailer. I noticed that our Texas AAA has a Premier Plan for $116.00 that seems to cover your vehicles and your RV. Who do you use for a roadside assistance plan? Anyone tried the AAA plan? How easy is it to get AAA out if needed, as opposed to Good Sam? Thanks, JeffRe: Chicago to Glacier NP during StugisIf you do go i90, there is a nice campground just across the tracks from Wall Drug Store. I doubt the cycle bunch will be that far from Sturgis.Re: RV Repair Shop NeededI would check with Kansas RV, the old Hitchhiker manufacturer. They have their big service center right up in Chanute,Ks. Good quality work and they work on most any brand.Re: Ft. Worth to Niagara Falls (Road Trip, No Trailer)Corvette museum and factory tour in Bowling Green, Ky.Re: It's "good-bye" to my 2006 Tundra and hello Ram 2500 DieselCongratulations on your new Ram. We just traded in our 2016 Ram 3500 diesel, for a new 2018 Ram, 2500 diesel. We love this new truck. The 3500 was very rough riding when not pulling the RV. You will not be sorry you got the 2500.Re: How much do I offer for a brand new 2017 Ram 2500 Diesel? Two weeks ago I bought a new, 2018 Ram, Longhorn, (with upgrade packages), 2500 diesel crewcab. Sticker was a little over $61,000. I was out the door for $47,500. That included about $1,000 in sales tax and lic. fees. Your 2017 here is only 1 model year old, since there have been no 2019's built.Re: Broken Bow OklahomaDo not stay in the local State Park campsites, unless you first check them out. We checked out the Beavers Bend Park and it is tight, very tight. Did I mention Tight????? Most, if not all the spaces at the state park will be very hard to get into with anything over about 28',in my opinion. The spaces are crammed together, so you had better like your neighbors. The roads through the campsite are very curvy and narrow with lots of low hanging limbs. My wife an I decided real quickly that we were not bringing our 35' 5th wheel into this place. If you go, the RV sites will be packed full of rigs and people. If this is your type of camping, give it a try. I would look at some of the other private camp grounds in the area. Another point. The whole Beavers Bend/Broken Bow area has been "discovered". Construction, crowds, and high prices everywhere. We will not go back.Re: 1 or 2 days in West Virginia KD4UPL wrote: Cass, Durbin, and Elkins, and Romney all have nice tourist trains. The New River Gorge Bridge is really impressive. You can go white water rafting on the New River and the Gauley River. The Gauley runs out of Summersville Lake which is beautiful and has some nice campgrounds with boat rentals. In the southern end of the state the Hatfield and McCoy trail system offers miles and miles of ATV trails. Charles Town in the northern pan handle (not Charelston) has horse races and a casino. X2. Also Blackwater Falls area. You really need to spend a week or two in W.Va. Well worth it, and lots of great camping locations.Re: 2010 Ford Super DutyAside from it's other proven problems, the 6.4 is known for terrible fuel mileage. As stated above, move up a year or two and look for a 6.7. you will be glad you did.
