Re: Crystal River FL. area campgrounds.
Manatees are packed in the springs now. Water is warmer. Three Sisters Park in Crystal River is best viewing area. April, May they will start to leave for the Gulf. Inverness has a historic courthouse. Elvis starred in a movie filmed there. Citrus County has terrific bike and hiking trails. Kayaking in the various fresh water springs in the area is a fun activity. Several of the rivers have boat tours. On Hwy 19 north of Crystal River is the western start of the Florida Barge Canal which was to be a cross state project. Halted by President Nixon. Great trail along the canal.
