I gotta say these have been pretty good tires as far as wear and over all performance I have had on my 2006 Cummins powered, six speed manual, 4x4 dually. I carry a Lance 915 with all the usual gear, generator, water, etc... I also tow a 7x16 cargo trailer with entirely too much stuff in it. Travel highway, a ton of gravel, and muddy rocky forest service roads. I have used most of the other tires everyone is posting about with pretty bad wear and no better "off road" and snow performance than these firestones. The only tire I have ever run that is better is the TOYO M55. Defiantly the best tire ever on my trucks. They are hard to come buy in my part of the country though.Honda on propane.I didn't want to hijack the "Honda in an Onan Compartment" thread so I'm posting a new one. I was just wondering what sort of run times people are seeing from their propane converted 2000's? THANKS!Re: Wilderness camping and gun safetyWell since you asked..... As others have said an unloaded gun is a useless gun. My weapons are loaded and ready 24/7. They havnt just up and killed anyone for 50 years. I prefer a revolver and shotgun but I'm old. Revolver's are not very picky when it comes to ammo. If it fits in the cylinder it is a pretty good bet it's gonna go off and keep shooting. Yeah it's only five or six shots usually but again, I'm old. I'm not going looking for a gun fight unloading 15 rounds and reloading shooting at bad guys while doing flips and stuff. I'm pulling my weapon as a last resort and taking out who or what is trying to harm me or my wife. I carry and shoot 357's. Because I can use relatively less expensive 38 ammo or affordable 357 reloads to practice with and then 357 mag hydro shock whatever for defense. A good quality revolver will stand up to lots of shooting and last forever if you take care of it. Proper training is good but if you dont practice and shoot regularly you are at a serious disadvantage especially in a high stress situation. You need drawing, aiming, and firing to feel second nature so to speak. Practice! Oh yeah and pump shotgun with 00 buckshot while in the camper will shut them down at the door pretty effectively.Re: Propane Generator to Gas.Removing 1 of 7.5 gallons propane cylinders make plenty of storage for gas can.... with triple running time. This is the main reason the thought entered my head. I end up carrying my Honda 2000's and a can of gas because the on board eats so much propane and getting tanks filled can be difficult sometimes.Propane Generator to Gas.I was wondering if anyone has converted their onboard propane generac to gasoline. I figured I might use it more if it didn't use all my propane after running for like two hours. Thought it's already in there and I wouldn't have to cary my honda then. THANKS!Re: Onan Cummins Propane GeneratorBasic maintenance. Change oil, Air filter, Plug, etc.... But as posted above, RUN the thing at least a couple hours a month!Re: Propane tank recertificationI've encountered the same problem with the horizontal tanks in my Lance 915. Thats why figuring out a way to put vertical 20 pound tanks in there is on the top of my project list. Can swap them out at any blue rhino when a new one is needed.Re: HFT Preditor 3500 Inverter Generator Grit dog wrote: And they still run, right? Get what you pay for. How do you know they have 1000s of hours? Did you know they have a built in hour meter? Light flashe once per 100 hrs on the machine when you start it. Yes. They still run great! One or two pulls they fire rite up every time. I did know about the blinky run light. I'm sort of a geek about reading manuals. Its boarder line addiction/problem according to my wife. And I'm really just estimating the hours. I'm a professional photographer. I've been using them pretty much non stop every week since I purchased them in 2006. I use them to run lighting on location, laptops, monitors, etc... Plus a lotta weekends a year while at various tracks shooting NASCAR, Moto America, AMA Events, etc... So just estimating 8 hours a week over lets just call it ten years puts them over 4,000 hours each. All I do is change the oil monthly and clean the air filters. Replace spark plugs. Adjusted the valves a few times. But nothing lasts forever and my scope of work is changing a bit so one unit to maintain and move around will be more convenient and will fit my needs. So that's why Im looking into a new power solution.HFT Preditor 3500 Inverter GeneratorOk, I gotta ask, has any body ran one of the 3500 Predators from Harbor Freight for any length of time? Like maybe regularly for season or year? I've seen all the you tube videos of how quiet they are outta the box, but what about after a year or two? I've run my two Honda 2000's since 2006 with no issues and I know there are thousands of hours on each of them and they keep on running. But I really would like something new with electric start and that Predator is hard to ignore at over $1,000.00 less than the Honda. Thanks!
