LPG is a byproduct of oil refining. It is compressed and becomes a liquid therefore trapping impurities (the oily residue) in it.... as I myself have noticed as having a yellowish consistency, so it is leaching out from the Liquid Propane itself even before the liquid reverts back to a gas. Exactly! The question is how to flush and clean the system to remedy the situation.Re: Oil in PropaneWill have to research a tank certification location and give a call. I'm gonna assume it might be cheaper to replace the tank but you never know. If I get a few warm days I'll pull the new regulator out and see if it has any oil in it. GregOil in PropaneHey All, I'm trying to determine how to troubleshoot/correct my propane issue safely. This is on a 1998 Roadtrek 170 Popular on Dodge chassis. I was smelling propane and saw the hose from tank to regulator was dry rotted. I replaced the hose and regulator. The old regulator was dripping oil when I removed it. I didn't think to check for more oil in the lines or the tank. Is there a safe way to empty the propane tank and flush the tank and lines to the appliances? Thanks in Advance! I couldn't find anything saying that it did but I really like it. We wouldn't be able to consider it if there is no inside shower option since that is one of the big reasons we are "moving up" from our current pop-up. Thanks! I have an Alaskan and what I do for a shower is have a tupperware type container on the floor and suspend a shower current surround from the cabinets then use a solar shower bag. Works quite nice when you are in a populated area and can't just go outside and use the outside shower or weather doesn't permit.Re: Are my batteries shot? Charging questionUPDATE; I separated the batteries. I hooked the suspected good one up to the Trimetric by itself and it's fine. Good voltage and reads full.I guess the one that was dry when I got it is shot. Was hoping to finish the season out on these and go new in the spring. Looks like that won't happen. I'm considering a pair of 6v AGM's. Are these happy with the engine alternator charging while on the road or is that too much voltage for them? Thanks everyone for your help! Greg 2013 GMC 3500HD, 10' AKC.Are my batteries shot? Charging questionHi All, I have 2 70AH 12v batteries conected for ~140AH @ 12v. I have a 10A charger on them overnight and it still says about 4A going in at 15v . I'm thinking these batteries are no longer taking a charge. One battery was half empty when I got the rig so I filled it with distilled water and charged it. Both batteries on resting read about 12.8v which indicates they are charged. Hooking up the charger to top them off I would think the amps would drop down to a trickle in a short time, couple hours? The charge started at about 8A and has tapered down to about 4A and not falling any lower. What are your thoughts? GregRe: Looking for ideas on next RV to purchaseOk, the thing to do now is get out there and look. I may go with a TT to start since I already have a Silverado 1500. At least I can pull a reasonable sized trailer with that. When I'm ready to move to a 5er I'll have to trade up on the truck. Thanks all! Greg '03 Tiger CXRe: Opinions wanted. So as someone that may want a 5er in the future where do I go to find what truck can tow what size 5er? GregRe: Looking for ideas on next RV to purchaseMy concern with going big is where I can go with it. I was able to take my Tiger to Sublime Point at Grand Canyon North and camp there. That was a 2 hr crawl on 4wd roads. Anything bigger isn't getting there. I'm not going back there but I do like getting into out of the way places for boondocking. Oh yeah, that 4wd sure is nice!Looking for ideas on next RV to purchaseHey all. I currently have a Tiger CX by Provan that serves me well. With the approach of retirement coming my mate says she will not join me without a larger RV. So the question is what are my options? I want to keep my footprint as small as possible yet have ample room to satisfy her. I'm thinking a Class C maybe 24 ft or a 5W, however it seems no one makes small 5'ers plus I'd have to upgrade from my 1500 which means $$$. Greg
