The F44 / F40 = an mb400 chassis unfortunately None of the factory front suspension parts are gonna fit though. These dodges originally had independant front suspensions with coil springs and upper and lower control arms etc. and usually ride and handle very well as long as everything is in decent shape. You now have a solid front axle with leaf springs so it,s completely different. Start with the basics , see if any parts are loose etc. and Sign up on some of the 4x4 forums and ask about conversion handling issues etcRe: Dodge 4x4 RVI don,t know what parts were used on the 4 x 4 conversion but All the factory dodge chassis and drivetrain parts are readily availible. Most parts places will have a listing for either a cb300 or mb300 chassis but some may only have a listing for a b300. You might have a mb400 chassis but most parts places don,t have a listing for that model , but MOST parts are the same as the 300 series. Those style of Broughams are COOL. PLEASE post more pictures. Do you know what kind of front axle is in it?Re: Michelin LT 225/75r16.....your opinion?Just my opinion of course but that size tire on a 32' motorhome is pushing the limits . .That same size tire and load range is used on 19' passenger vans .Re: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?:R Re: Wow! Tires... JNorton wrote: I didn't read it like you did. I read it as in the 16.5" size you have one option Firestone and that they are a true motorhome rated tire. Not that they are the only rated tire just in that size. I have had Michelin, Firestone and BF Goodrich and any new tire beats an old tire. :) Sorry...just to clarify ........I,m not trying to be a stickler or trouble maker ... but it was the 5 year vs. 7 year life span comments that provoked me to question his opinion ? I,m going back under my rock now . :-)Re: Wow! Tires... DaHose wrote: In a nutshell. If you have true 16" wheels, you can buy light truck tires in the right load rating. They will have a recommended replacement life of 5 years. If you have 16.5" wheels, then you will probably only have one choice of tire (Firestone TransForce), but it will be a true motorhome rated tire with a life of 7 years. Jose Wow you sound like a really good Firestone salesperson !!! LoL Please tell ....what makes You think the firestone transforce line of LT tires are "TRUE MOTORHOME RATED " more so than any of the other brands of LT tires in the same load range and size ??? I,m not knocking those tires at all ....but there is nothing about them that makes them " true motorhome rated " whatever that means ???... any more than their comparetively priced competition in the same load range ....... They are ALL LT tires !!!! Those maybe the only option in the 16.5" size these days ,but they are no better or worse , or last longer than other makes of LT TIRES. There are some ALL STEEL lines of 16" tires out there like the Michelin Xps rib Goodyear gs series Bridgestone duravis etc. that one might consider "true mh tires" but those are in another league & price range entirely .....Re: 85 Chevy Dolphini thought he said it works but just spins to fast ? that,s what i based my reply on ... but the describtion is kinda unclear so ???Re: 85 Chevy DolphinSounds like someone probably swapped / changed your transmission before for a rebuilt etc. and did not reinstall the correct speedometer gears in the trans. to match your gear ratio and tire size.Re: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?You need wheels from a 1st. Generation dodge ram pickup 1985-1993 like these 16" coined dually wheelsRe: Compressor saleHow befitting...... Harbor freight tools and MOST Class C motorhomes have alot in common!:B
