The OEM Firestone Transforce ATs are not wearing well on my RAM 2500. They'll prolly be gone by 30K miles. Have heard that OEM tires in general are worse than the same tire aftermarket. But dunno if that's true. Anyway, I too will never buy a Firestone Transforce HT or AT again. That's the line that Firestone told me over the phone. They make the tires to "OEM Mfg. Specs". So, I went down to a local shop that also sells Firestone and the tires they had in that size had the exact same TPC number which is what I understand is the tire "Spec code".Re: Trying to find out How to contact Management...Gettysburg Battlefield Resort is owned by Travel Resorts of America. Good luck dealing with them. I've had better luck painting claws on a rabid cat.Re: Chevy 2500HD TiresI only got 30k miles on the Transforce HTs on my 2015 Silverado 2500. To get better insight, you should got to http://www.fortfiends.net/ and ask there. It's the best website about the Fort.Re: Good reasons NOT to go with 5er over TT....Just don't get the same 5er as us. A Springdale 253FWRL (29' Exterior Lenght). While it has more room in the Living Room because of the opposing slides, it really is a step down from most travel trailers especially the Dutchmen 30DSL we had. No head room at all in the bedroom. My wife at 5'3" can't stand up in the bathroom. As for storage, it has less usable storage then any other TT of the same length. Backing this particular 5er into my driveway makes me look like an idiot too. Takes me about 7 tries to get it into the driveway. The 25' Big Tex Tilt Car trailer I can get it in one try and any other bumper pull trailer I bring home from work. I have problem for 2 reasons I believe. The corners of the 5er and not cut and my sliding hitch was improperly installed by CW because when you put it into the maneuver position, the extended king pin contacts the inside of my tailgate as soon as you initiate a turn. I regret going to this particular 5er over a TT. I would like to give another 5er a chance before I totally write them off. I will admit though that the towing experience is much better.Re: Route from Gettysburg to DCU.S. 15 South to I-270 S to I-495 E to U.S. 1Re: Lancaster, PA to Gettysburg, PA dblr wrote: Just take 30 no problems just watch the rotary spots when you get closer to Gettysburg. We call them squares, lol. You'll encounter the one at Abbottstown first then the one in New Oxford and if you do come directly into Gettysburg, our town "square". Keep in mind that the traffic already in the "square" has the right away and you need to yield to it.Re: Lancaster, PA to Gettysburg, PAU.S. 30 is the preferred route for us that live in and around Gettysburg.Re: 2015 Chevy/GMC 2500 Diesel or Gas?I'm pulling an 8200 GVW 5th wheel with my 2500. However mine is gas with a stickered payload of 2831 lbs. When I bought the 2015 in July of 2014 I bought the one with the highest payload rating on the lot. If I remember right, the highest payload I saw on the lot for a duramax equipped 2500 crew cab 4x4 was just shy of 2300 lbs. No dealers around me had a 3500 on the lot and didn't for several weeks later, otherwise I would have one. Like I stated in my post on page one, I'm happy with mine. If I had a Travel Trailer and had no inkling to ever get a 5th wheel, I would go with a diesel in the 250/2500 class. If you decide you might want a 5th wheel and still want a diesel, jump up to the 350/3500 class because of the payload capacity.Re: 2015 Chevy/GMC 2500 Diesel or Gas?Just keep in mind that if you ever think you might upgrade to a 5th wheel, just skip over the 2500/250 if you go the diesel route and at minimum get the 3500/350 SRW. Also, check out the new look for the 2017 GM twins. Why yes, those are functional scoops.
