All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: AF 990 slide out measurementI have an 2008 AF990 and I believe the slide out goes out 26 inches. I think it is listed in the sales pamphlet. That is one of the points that made me buy that model. Most of the other slides are around 20-22 inches. I hope this helps.Re: Can a Rock do this to a camper?I have added some pictures now so you can see what I am talking about. It looks like a bullet hole to me...What do you think?Re: Can a Rock do this to a camper?I tried to add the photos to the posting, but I don't seem to have a button for adding pics. Any suggestions?:hCan a Rock do this to a camper?I found this hole in the front corner of my camper. It looks like a bullet hole to me as I don't think a rock can do this, but I'm not sure. I would have to tear into the camper to determine if a bullet is there, and I don't want to do that. I don't like to think it is a bullet hole, but what else could it be? It kinda freaks me out! OK! Here are the pics...I hope:-) Re: Tips for TC BoondockingI love boondocking, but I have to say it is getting harder and harder to find places that allow it anymore. As stated previously, now many states require parking permits at many of the places that you could park overnight for free. Also, they are gating many of the roads here in Oregon and that is a major showstopper. Just try to find a place to boondock on the north Oregon coast. Such places are drying up quickly. The powers that be just want us all under control in a crowded campground so we aren't out destroying the forests like so many unfortunate idiots do. I believe STEALTH camping will be the standard in the future.Re: DelaminationDelamination is the biggest problem with RV's. I would look at the gutter drain area as I had a similar issue that was caused by the water draining off the roof and the underside seam from the overhang where the gutters ran down the side of the camper was where the leak was. It cost a lot of money to fix and this keeps the RV industry in business fixing these issues. I can't understand why they aren't able to come up with a better method to seal these things. If I had known all this BEFORE I bought a Camper I would have bought a van or something else.Re: AF 990 Variable Quad light set just quite workingHey thanks for your response! I looked at the switch and am a bit stumped as to how to get it out. It is right under the MICROWAVE and has a metal shell with no screws to remove it. But, I did try to remove the Microwave and all of a sudden the lights started working. So, I think the micro is somehow bending the wires till they lose their connections and the circuit goes OPEN. If you know how to remove the switch cover that would be helpful. But, at this point I am going to just see how long it continues to work. Thanks!AF 990 Variable Quad light set just quite workingI have an 08 990 with a 4 light set that is controlled by a single dimming switch. I checked the fuses and looked at the bulbs and see nothing wrong. Could it be the dimmer switch itself? Do they just all of a sudden fail like that? Another thought is that one bulb failed and takes out the rest. I hope it's not wired this way, but you never know.... I am wondering if any one has any experience with this problem and what the solution might be? Thanks, TerryRe: AF 990 Powers down intermittently?Well, I have come to the conclusion that it WAS the loose connections causing the issue. I have been trying to replicate the failure since I fixed the loose wires, and no problems found. I also noticed that when I turned on my generator, the battery voltage ramped up immediately as it is supposed to. I will be continue my testing in the upcoming summer season, and hope I am correct in my assumption. Thanks for the replies folks! I appreciate your expert opinions!AF 990 Powers down intermittently?Well, I have a weird one boys and girls! I have had this problem and it is happening more often now. I will be doing my camping thing when all of a sudden the 12volt system just shuts off and all power is gone! It started a couple years ago, but it has been happening more frequently in recent weeks. Now it seems to happen a couple times a week. I was under the sink when it happened the other day, and after about 5 minutes with NO power, I heard a loud CLICK and then the power comes on. I think it might be the 5100 series automatic transfer relay by Progressive Dynamics box that is under the sink. I also found a little black device that had power wires hooked to it, but the connectors were loose, so that be the issue also. I don't know what this device is. So, I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what they may know about it?
