I say flaw because who ever designed such could have never used a diesel pusher imo.Re: Considering first DP - any advice? There are to many variables and every person has different wants and needs but here is one thing that is for certain and not just an opinion. Some of the Alabama built DP's Ive looked at that other people owned had nearly zero engine access as in having a rear radiator and only a space maybe 2ft by 2ft under a panel in the closet for you to have access to the engine. Buy a side radiator coach because it can be hard enough at best to get to the engine to do the most minor of side of the road repairs ie filters belts and so on. Do yourself a favor and take heed to this. Good luck. Dub McBrideRe: When to replace tiresWhen I pull my aged tires of my Foretravel I sell them to loggers and got $80.00 each for my last ones.. There is a market for your pull offs. The money goes a good piece towards you new set.Re: 22.5 vs 19.5 tiresI'm with you.... The only way I would move from 22.5 would be if I could trade up to 24.5 and no typical Diesel Pusher will have that..I have 3.5 million miles on me, "that's why I look like 40 miles of bad road" and I want some meat between me and the asphalt.Re: 22.5 vs 19.5 tires wa8yxm wrote: As stated 19.5 you get a spare. 22.5 you don't (Generally) Better ride, More ground clearance. HIGHER PRICE. But I'd not want 19 inchers on my RV. I'm very happy with mny 22.5's And as for the spare... I helped a friend change one once. I'm a big and fairly strong dude (6;2 cand lift 250 pounds) and loading that flat into his pickup.. That was right at my limit. I'd not want one pound heavier. In fact that was like 7-9 years ago and I'm not sure I'd want to attempt it today. So a Spare would not do me any good. Just be one more tire to replace. Re: Buying adviceBe sure and consider Foretravel coaches. Quality built units and you can buy a dandy for less than 150k.Re: Anyone make a mistake buying first MH ?She was used offthewall..I'm not one to shell out big money on any motorized vehicle... Coach is 20 years old... Many folks wouldn't have a motor home that old but this one has proved to be the best choice for me.. Served me well the past 5 years...Re: Anyone make a mistake buying first MH ?I almost did but an older friend that had many over the years insisted i wait until I could get a diesel pusher Foretravel... If not for him I would have bought the wrong coach.Re: Evaporative Cooler on the Roof??Yeah I remember those round units that you rolled the window up on... They weren't effective and mostly rich people had them... we just kept the windows down with our arms hanging out.Re: disadvantage of having MoHo parked in driveway.Come inside on me and then it becomes a shooting offence... I pray no one ever brings it to that.. I would hate it when it's over but inside my home raises things to another level... There are no Mayberry's left and it's a shame.
