We did this a couple years ago and spent almost 6 weeks in fall colors!Re: Mount Rushmore Night Show/Lighting CeremonyWhat we did was park in Keystone and bike up the hill. Allowed easier access to everything. If that is not possible then the earlier in the day the better. It can get very busy. Since the cancellation of fireworks it has not been as crowded as in the past.Re: traveling the blue ridge parkwayThe whole thing is awesome. We took just the tents and enjoyed the National Park campgrounds. They are a bit old but located at higher elevations. Here was our guide Campgrounds along Blue Ridge HwyRe: Nashville, TN ParksLightning might strike me but the KOA is really nice. You will be hard pressed to get a site but it is worth a shot Nashville ParksHead onAlmost involved in a head on collision today. Car passing the line of cars I was in, all travelling just slightly above the speed limit. Passing car just kept coming even with oncoming traffic approaching. I judged that he would hit right next to me. Decided to hit my brakes and swerve to the shoulder. Opposing driver did the same. Passing car continued on as if nothing happened. Finally pulling in front of the lead vehicle. Started a discussion with my wife and thought I would invite your feedback. Now we were speaking with a small sample size but do you believe headons are a direct factor of drivers' unwillingness to slow down? If I had not braked and swerved there would have been an accident. The cars in line behind... continued on right by me without as much as a pause! Outside of dui and medical emergencies why else would headons happen?Re: Leaving outside camper lights on?Only annoying city folks do that ;)Re: Cedar Pass CampgroundWind and exposed but nice http://www.campgroundviews.com/listing/cedar-pass-campground/Re: Outer Banks National Seashore campingSeasonal thing. No hookups, storm potential and other variables mean these places tend to have openings year round. You can also take a look at them here http://bit.ly/1UjwiDi
