Lots of good advise. Really appreciate it. Giving the Arctic Fox a second look vs the Grand Design as I suspect being able to Dry Camp and boon dock will be more beneficial, and fun, than I originally was considering. So far, for me anyway, the take away is four main points. 1. Being willing/able to dry camp and boon dock opens up a lot more options 2. Chose your travel time for off-peak 3. Look to have fun 4. Hello, Am considering a Grand Design 2670KM (approx 32ft) for Boondocking. Has good size tanks so thats a positive. Haven't been able to find much from people who own a Grand Design and use it for boondocking. Would be interested in their observations and comments on how suitable the Grand Design is. Thanks everyone. My wife and I had planned on doing some Boondocking and dry camping but I think we'll be fine and just plan on doing a bit more boondocking and dry camping that we expected. Need truthful opinions based on experience. My wife and I have been investigating traveling after I retire in two years. We were about ready to pull the trigger on a travel trailer than my wife got talking to some folks in her church who travel a lot with a travel trailer. Seems they are not as happy with the experience as they used to be. Too hard to find nice places to stay, RV parts are too crowded. You have to make reservations 6 months in advance for the nice places in good locations. The ability to just pick up and go and/ or stop anyplace and stay awhile is becoming increasingly difficult due to the demand for spaces. Truthfully this kind of freedom was one of the major attractions for myself and my wife. We recognized that some parks would likely be crowded and there would be some need to make reservations in advance... but 6 months ? Also a RV park that is packed to the gills really isn’t too appealing to me, especially if there is nothing like a line of shrubs or other divider to keep me from looking into my neighbors window. Hi, Thanks everyone for the input. I should probably have made it a bit clearer. Will not be heading into the woods or undeveloped areas for really roughing it. Mostly State and Federal parts that have undeveloped locations for trailers... so basically Boon docking but in locations designated for boon docking so some accommodations for travel trailers size and length is expected.. but not much So far Lance and The Arctic Fox seem to be the most accommodating to what I want. Hello, Investigating trailers that can take going down unpaved roads. I'm not talking real rough but more on the line of well maintained two track roads. Something with Good ground clearance, good size tanks and well made enough to take the occasional rut hole (driving slowly). Something approx 30ft long five or take a few feet. People have suggested Komfort (no longer made) Adak (to expensive) Can any one advise on a Model that would meet these qualifications? Hello, Just preparing to purchase our first Travel trailer, probably the new Grand Design 2670MK. BUT... I have been doing a lot of reading. There appear to be lots of free and/or cheap places to park your trailer but these free/cheap locations usually have no electric, water or Gray/black water dump stations. No problem with the water and electric, these can be dealt with, but where to dump your gray and black water? Is there a national database of locations and/or places which allow you to dump the waste for a fee or otherwise? How are others attacking this problem? Thank you nonrev2.5KViews0likes12Comments
