Jeri, We downsized from a 40ft DP to a 17ft ultra lite TT and just love it !! Like you said, we don't spend all that much time inside and it's cheap enough that if it sits for a few weeks or months, who cares. It's there when we want it. Go for it !! I don't think it's a matter of how often you use it, but more of the enjoyment you get out of it when you do. Sometimes our TT will sit in the yard for weeks on end, but there are times we will book a weekend at the spur of the moment. Just having it and knowing it's at the ready is enjoyment in itself for us. Our payment is cheep enough that if it has to sit for a month or two without being used, it wont break the bank. When we were both healthy it didn't matter to us and we always went rain or shine, but back in Oct my wife suffered a major heart attack and stroke. She is in a wheelchair now and it's harder for me to get her around. I'm getting older and have health issues now myself. So now we try not to go if we know it's going to be crappy all weekend. Maybe I should explain that rain usually will not totally stop us from going, but when the forecast is calling for rain the whole weekend, than we think twice about it. When we had a MH we didn't mind going, but having a TT now and getting older with health issues, I guess we have kind of turned into fair weather campers lol. It sucks setting up and tearing down in the pouring rain, been there/ done that way to many times to mention lol. You can just call me a camping ***** lol. We were going for a 3 day weekend this Thursday, but decided to cancel and wait till next week. Local weather is calling for rain starting Thurs afternoon and on and off showers right through the weekend.
