I live in Omaha and haven't heard of PPL but will do some research.Re: 1st time 5er buyer needs adviceThanks to all for your advice, it gives me a lot to think about. Acei, those are very helpful links - I'd never visited that site before. I don't currently own the F150 that I mentioned earlier, it's just what I've been looking at. I might have to rethink that though. I tow my hybrid with a Toyota 4Runner (tow capacity of 7,000 lbs). Thanks again.1st time 5er buyer needs adviceWe've owned 2 pop-ups in the past and currently own a hybrid trailer. Camped next to a 5th wheel this weekend that really caught my attention. It's an Open Range Light and appealed to me because it can be towed by a half ton and can be turned up to 90 degrees when backing up. So now we're looking for a 5er. My question is this: if we want to tow with an F150 Ecoboost that can tow up to 11,000 lbs, what are your recommendations? We'd like to stay on the smallish side because it will usually be just the 2 of us. We've always owned Jaycos in the past but are willing to look at other brands. Thanks for your help! RossRe: Rockwood Roo 21SS - Tow VehicleChuck is right about the Roo 23SS weighing more than the Jayco 23B, in fact probably about 1,000 lbs more. My whole point was that I've been impressed with the quality and performance of the vehicle. It's too bad Toyota no longer puts a V8 in the 4Runner. When I'm ready for another vehicle, I'll probably look at the Tundra. Kcskitek, I hope you enjoy your ride. Also, I have to say, I've been really impressed with the folks who are posting on this forum. Hope you all have a great camping season!Re: Rockwood Roo 21SS - Tow VehicleI have a 2005 4Runner SR5 with the V8 that I bought new, so we've been towing campers with it for 7 years. I love trucks no matter what the brand but just haven't been able to make myself buy one. Even my buddies with Chevy trucks have told me, "If it's not broke don't fix it". The first test for me was towing my Jayco 23B up a muddy dirt trail to dry camp in a horse pasture while turkey hunting on the Santee Indian Reservation in northern Nebraska. The truck guys that were with me couldn't believe it. I fully expect to get at least 200,000 miles from my "country club SUV" ;) with minimal maintenance costs. I also use a WDH. I've been tempted by the F150 Ecoboost and by the Chevy 1500 but would have downgrade in terms of quality. I'm not brand loyal, capitalism is important to me. I like to buy from the most capitalist entity I can find and, right now, it seems like Japan is winning that battle (compared to the US anyway).
