Gas issue? With an older unit, change oil, filter, flush coolent, transmission, etc. Start with a clean slate and then you know.Re: Contemplating trip to Florida Keys brandonrv wrote: Get on I10 and just stay on it the whole way imo. You'll hit San Antonio, Houston (though this part sucks) Baton rouge, mobile, pensacola To name a few. And lots of decent rest stops and even more rv parks. If on IH10 and coming in to San Antonio, take the Loop 1604 around the north of the city and get back on IH10. I have never been to KW, but a friend said avoid travel on weekends due to traffic.Re: What is this Solar Charge For? Colo Native wrote: it is a trickle charger Yes, but for engine or house battery?Re: What is this Solar Charge For?If parked in direct sunlight, the red light will come on to show it is charging the battery. Hmmm, my panel is larger than the one you show....I thought it charged the house batteries...not the engine battery....don't know, but the light doesn't come on anymore....Re: Want to upgrade - Is diesel worth it?xx...sorry, I hit the wrong button...Re: Want to upgrade - Is diesel worth it?A good friend has a 2013 Tiffin Breeze 32BR. It has the Navistar V8 diesel and he likes it. This is his third DP and likes the shorter unit. Not a big deal but this engine does not use DEF as most DPs do. He says it has adequate power to pull a toad and do hills although slowly. He has not had any problems with it. I have looked at a Breeze...he says shop a 2014 or 15 as they have the indpendent front suspension which make a better steering unit. My local dealer wants $159 for a loaded 2014 and 4% more for a 2015....4% is his cost increase from Tiffin....he says. They asked me to make them a "reasonable offer". I didn't as I was afraid to as I might up owning a new DP....ha haRe: House Batteries Depleted. How to Fix??Kim, some good advice here, some over both your head and mine...ha ha I think you have a gas engine and two 6v house batteries....and a 12v to start the engine (usually in the front in engine compartment of a gas model) Spend some time opening all of the outside doors and look and see what you have...a battery compartment will be there some where. Check the battery water by taking the lids off and seeing if the water is up to a "ring", if not fill carefully with DISTILLED WATER, not tap water. If they are older, replace them. Look in the yellow pages and see if you can find an independent RV repair person....have them explain things to you...most RVs work similarly so you can learn your systems. Two hours @ $50 or so an hour will be worth a lot to you. Study your unit...take photos and notes and ask questions here. Lots of help here. Camp at your nearest RV park. Sit outside and visit and ask questions of your neighbors...all want to help. Good luck.Re: Interstate or Duralast BatteriesI use Interstate because the house batteries are located where I can not lift thenm in or out of their location. I go to a RV repair person and he installs Interstates for me. Yeah, it costs me a little more but he is handy and does other maintenance as needed....and does good work so I trade with him. FYI I change out all my batteries every three years, needed or not, as I dry camp in remote locations in west Texas and don't need a battery problom....oh, no cell service there either....just makes me feel better....Re: Seeking Opinion on F53 Chassis A/C repair costSounds high. Call a RV dealer and see what a new unit would cost. Roof a/c are hard to repair properly. I doubt a Ford dealer has the knowledge to repair a RV a/c unless they have lots of experience.Re: type of gas for ford V10?I have used regular in my motorhomes for years....10% ethenol is all that is avaailable in this part of south Texas. No problems but I use two or three cans of cheapest gas stabilizer in every other tank and in my lawn equipment. It may help....
