After almost 20 years I still can't explain it.Re: Heating the GarageJust noticed several `plug in' ceramic heaters on Amazon for under $30. Don't know if they will do the job for you but may be part of the conversation. Those natural gas heaters will heat the whole neighborhood :-)Re: Replacing Water HeaterAlways curious; why go to larger water heater? More people...longer showers...Re: Advice on Cover for Winter StorageWhat is a cover? We have used a Sunshield-like tarp for as long as we have had the RV. It's much easier to handle than the kind that envelopes the entire rig. It covers the roof and parts of the sides, front and back. I'm 84 and like a fool keep climbing up onto the roof to install it. For lots of reading search this Forum for `RV cover'.Re: Mysterious Propane "Leak"I had trouble finding a leak and tried everything; smelling, soap test and special leak detector liquid. Then one time I saw several flies around a particular joint, tested it specifically and then I saw the bubbles. Let flies be your best friend. They like the presence of LP.Re: The horrible roads are killing the fun.The latest conspiracy theory (that I am just making up) is that the tire companies and the government are in cahoots somehow. The worse the roads are the more tires are needed. Good for the tire companies. Less road maintenance means lower taxes and more incumbents are re-elected. Good for the politicians.Re: Cover for camper while in storage? Yes/no?For additional posts search this forum for `rv cover' and read on. We have covered our camper for 19 seasons using a `Sunshield' silver/black tarp that covers the top and part of the sides depending on what size tarp is used. Our 12 x 30 tarp costs around $60 and weighs about 20 lbs. We hold it down with boat fenders partially filled with sand to keep it from flapping. No damage as has sometimes been reported. If you go with a cover that envelopes the entire RV check the weight to see if you will be able to get it up onto the roof and where you will store it.Re: Is changing to a quieter AC worth it?I installed one of the Wacko products and it makes a big difference. Check out Wackoproducts.com. And, no, i don't work for them and would not benefit from a purchase.Re: Alaska - 2023Devil's advocate here: We flew to Fairbanks and started a two week tour which included several days on a small cruise ship and some railroad travel. Saw a lot and it was easy on our aging bodies. I'd start the Alaska trip with something similar then go back another time to spend more time if you want. I just noticed Viking has something similar.Re: Good RV Mattress for heavier peopleIf you can try Verlo. We've tried most of them and think they are the best but $$$ Remember you spend 1/3 of your life on a mattress so $$$ may not be so high when you think of how it's used. P.S. we have them on both our RV and stick house.
