I’m going to retry the troubleshoot part!Electric brakesI have a mystery here I hope ?? someone can help me with. I replaced two of four brakes on my trailer.. Everything worked fine when I started. Now I have a brake disconnected error code from my controller. I connected the new brakes to the line using butt connectors and shrink wrap. I checked the pig tail, the wire from the bus bar to the magnet and ground. I have continuity to all of them. I ran a new line separate from the original and had brakes for about five seconds and got the error code again. I’m at a total loss here. Any ideas? Anything would be appreciated!!!! Thanks!Re: Dexter axle lack of response on issues!I have 3500 axles and had an alignment done by a company that works on big rigs. They adjusted the spindle. They only had it for one day and it was only a couple hundred dollars.Re: Yummy! But on the sweet side you knew how to deal with it!Re: Voltage Regulators Sagebrush wrote: Its always smart to check the voltage upon arrival before unhooking or plugging in. You can do that with a cheap multi meter. I use one off Amazon that is AC/DC with a Hertz mode. While your there you could just have a voltage meter plugged into a wall outlet, that way you have an idea if your getting enough volts. Progressive Industries EMS hard wired in is best if you want good protection from high or low voltage, bad grounds and surges. My minimum is something like this for checking out AC outlets and DC batteries: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Z398YWF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 While I'm in the RV I use one of these two to monitor voltage: I used to think the same thing about Progressive. So much so that I bought a hard wire 30a. I didn’t know I had a problem from a surge until I smelled wires burning on the ac out side of the unit. To make matters worse, when I called Progressive they not only were of no help but cut communication on the first call. The tech checked to see if they would warrant the unit, his idea not mine since I never mentioned warranty, and when he discovered there was no warranty available he cut the chat off and would not return additional emails. When I called there was no additional help available. I was hugely disappointed from a company that had such good reviews. Just my experience. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015H0A3FO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081ZL5PCV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 EMS for 30 amp, they make a 50 amp also: https://www.progressiveindustries.net/ems-lchw30 Re: Is my inverter fried?Hi guys! Been gone awhile as I’m sure you’ve noticed and hopefully you gave up by now, lol. Thanks for all the replies and info. To wrap up and answer pianotuna’s question, I wrote off the China junk and got a Victron multiplus 3kva. I haven’t installed it yet but I’m really pumped over it. I like the resume for one. Victron is widely used in little things like oil refineries and on pipelines where reliability is paramount, boondocking is not their primary focus. I like the power assist and the trickle charger for the battery for the tongue jack. Thanks again for all the feedback!!! MikeRe: Is my inverter fried? 3 tons wrote: “Is my inverter fried”?? Looks like we may never know - :) 3 tons Hi. Haven’t been on the forum lately. Tried all sorts of stuff, kind of like what piano tuna was saying. It fried. It won’t even push a fan! Thanks for the help y’all! Is my inverter fried?Hi y’all. I have a 2kw Renogy inverter/charger/auto transfer switch connected to 4 Lifeline 6v agm batteries, wired series/parallel. Just for fun and to see what affect it would have on the batteries I plugged a 5k btu air conditioner in. It has a 4.6 amp draw and the batteries were at 13.1v. It ran fine for about 5 minutes and I turned it off to see how the batteries responded. They went to 12.9. I plugged the ac back in turned to fan only and nothing! Turned the inverter off and a couple of minutes later the lights flashed and less than a second later, nothing. Plugged into shore power, nothing. Is this just typical Chinese quality? It’s been mounted in the camper since Dec 2019 with moderate to light use and has worked fine up until now. TIA for any thoughts!Re: Need more tongue weightMaybe you could mount a nice tool box on the front of the trailer; over the tanks? Move the spare to an under trailer rack. Are your wd bars properly adjusted, maybe back off a link? Would like to hear what you did if you find something that works!Re: Ideas to carry spare and bikesI used a bracket that spans the width of and bolts to the trailer frame. Maybe it won’t eat up too much ground clearance. That would free up your bumper.
